Skype is a program that allows you to talk to people through the internet with your microphone. The official version was released a few months ago, and it kicks ass. You can even do "conferencing" calls which allows for 4 people to talk to eachother at once.
It's sort of like AIM, but instead of typing to everyone, you talk. Obviously, you need a computer microphone in order to use this program.
