Anyone interested in Advent Rising?

Truelize

Steroid Distributor
I just finished watching the trailer for this and I am now much more interested in the game then I was before.
Looks kinda like a 3rd person Halo meets Beyond Good and Evil. :lol If that makes any sense. I've only read the details that have been in the magazines lately. But I know the game is coming pretty soon.

Who's looking forward to this?

The story is being penned by Orson Scott Card, right? That's got me at least mildly hopeful. It's really a shame that my computer wont have a chance in hell of running it.

I'm curious about the game, but a bit concerned being it a trilogy.
I hate playing a game and never seeing the story continue if the sequels never get made (i.e. Beyond Good & Evil).

Yea, the Orson Scott Card angle is interesting as I've liked a few of his novels but...it doesn't really mean that it works for this sort of project. I'm waiting on reviews.

Being the mental weakling I am I wasn't able to resist the hype and have a preorder on this game. I hope it doesn't repeat the Blinx trauma.

I'm interested in the title looked nice with a good story. I just don't like that fact that its a planned trilogy which can be bad since a majority of these "epic" type games never really complete the whole arc.

I think the Million dollars is just majescos desperate attempt to get some hype going for the game, doesnt seem to be working yet.

On topic though, story sounds good, gameplay i dunno...I kept asking people to play it when they went to e3, but none of them did :'(

Orson Scott Card didn't wrire the plot and only scripted the first 1/4th of it.

Latest IGN interview cleared this up.

That said I'm holding out a sliver of hope that this is at least an 8.

I cannot imagine any future scenario in which I, for whatever reason, ever play this game, unless it's being demoed at a Target or something. If that answers your question...

I've heard great things about this one and it does look interesting.

Tallarico did the tunes, I believe this is his first time using a full orchestra

I am. Everyone wants new licenses instead of rehashes until someone actually tries to release one ahah.

Well said.

I'll be watching reviews, if the game does well I think I'll be picking it up.

those arent xbox games so who cares about those games haha

i am interested. i love the character designs and ideas presented... but the xbox game still looked a bit rough at e3. maybe its just that they had it set up right next to the pc one, which just killed the xbox one in image quality and frame rate.

I'm interested. I love Orson Scott Card and if the gameplay delivers even 70% of what it's being hyped to, it'll be great. I'll wait for reviews.

i know it doesn't necessarily mean anything now, but i played it at last years e3 (2004) and it was one of the worst games at the show. controlled like shit, didn't look great and was very mediocre overall. who knows how much it has improved since then, but it is going to take an incredible amount of hype/good impressions to make me forget about that awful, awful experience from e3

I believe you. All of the movies for this game look awful.

No.

I really, really want to be, but everytime I see a video I just can't stop thinking of how BAD the animation is.

What's worse is if it does mildly well you KNOW they'll build a whole new engine and completely change the gameplay for the next part of the trilogy. When that one does poorly they'll dump the whole thing.

Advent's an Unreal Engine game, so if anything, I suspect they'll migrate to UE3 for the next installment. :) I don't think Majesco's making such an effort to promote the game because the gameplay itself is bad, either. I actually suspect they've pegged it as the one IP in their stable with the most potential to be a breakout hit, and are trying to build an audience for the sequels now. (I'm not certain about the details of their publishing arrangement with GlyphX, but I wouldn't be surprised if the deal includes the planned sequel(s) as well.)
