For those of you that own it, how is it? I can't see much for this specific model as almost all youtube videos fail to mention the specific model and specifically showcase the Neo model, which is the highest end model. On paper it looks outstanding, but I've heard about Samsung QC issues. Have they been fixed?

I am more interested in using this as a work station than pure gaming. I currently have two 1440p monitors and have been wanting to replace them with a single large monitor, so the price was good enough here for me to do it. I've never come across a cheap one, and this was the first time such a monitor was under $1000.
That's not to say I wont try out some gaming on it, but my C1 OLED hooked up to my 3080 is my way to play. OLED pure blacks just cannot be beat.

Also, if I want to use this as 2 1440p screens, do I need to use both display port cables?!

I was looking at one of these before I just said fuck it and went with a 55 inch TV. The 49 inch ultrawides are the same width as 55 inch displays but just half the height. I use the 55 inch for work and the height is definitely useful, something worth bearing in mind.

Fwiw I'll be downsizing slightly to a 48 inch OLED soon.

I have a couple of G7's (essentially standard wide-screen versions of this monitor) which suffer from issues that this G9 also has, which the Neo G9 ALSO suffers from..

Essentially when visiting specific sites at higher refresh rates, largely darker ones the whole screen will freak out and display incredibly visible scan lines across the whole monitor, some people say this also produces a high pitched whine from the monitor itself but mine does not do that, just the visible scan lines.

It is incredibly rare but it will always occur on the same sites and is super irritating, I have not encountered this issue in a game yet however. This issue happens with the latest firmware versions, so yeah just be aware.

Otherwise... yeah it's a high refresh monitor, everything else it does is largely better and above norn for its price range, much like its 240 refresh speed. Even with this issue there's a reason I have two.

This monitor is without question overkill for what I am looking to do with it, but 32:9 hasn't become mainstream enough yet for them to make non-gaming versions that are affordable. I'd easily buy a 60Hz version without gaming features that produced a nice image on an IPS panel.

I had the previous model before broke it in the stupidest way possibile.
Great monitor for work but not that great for gaming, too wide and stressful for your neck. The later models were more curved than mine but it doesn't solve that much.

This monitor is without question overkill for what I am looking to do with it, but 32:9 hasn't become mainstream enough yet for them to make non-gaming versions that are affordable. I'd easily buy a 60Hz version without gaming features that produced a nice image on an IPS panel.

If you don't need the gaming features then look at the LG 49WL95C. It wasn't available where I live at the time I was looking but it looked yo be the best option from a colour accuracy perspective.

The whole idea of the curve wrapping around your peripheral vision is a gimmick since it requires you to sit "in" the curve. For work it has no use and if gaming you're better off just going with VR for games that support it at that point.

I would definitely buy the new Dell Alienware Oled if I was getting an Ultrawide. I had the G7 last year and returned it, flickering, microstutter issues. That line isn't for me.

An excellent display that won’t catch on for gaming support. The industry barely attempts to support 21:9 as things stand.

As mentioned above, you’re better off buying a larger OLED and limiting the real estate on a case-by-case usage.

Granted I run it at only 120Hz - but the latest firmware for the Odyssey G9 Neo (ver 1011.0) got rid of all scanline issues for me completely

It’s fine. If there was a $500 60Hz option that was 5120x1440 that wasn’t complete garbage I’d consider it, but this price for the Samsung was too good to pass up. Since I now have it, I might as well see if any of the features are worth a crap.

I have the Odyssey Neo g9 (mini led one) and I love it. Got it mostly because of destiny, it’s like playing it in vr with no head set. Did have an issue with the screen turning off then back on at 240hz frimware updates seemed to have fixed this for the most part.

I have that monitor and it works perfect for me, although I mainly use it for sim racing. It's a newer version of the G95 and it fixed a couple of the issues that the older model had. I also have the older 1080P version, CHG90, upstairs for desktop work and the G97 with 1440P resolution does make it a better work monitor since the text is much clearer. The curve is also much greater on the G97 so it shouldn't strain your neck. For the games that support 32:9 it's pretty awesome. The Rayman games especially or any side scroller works really well.

I want that bad boy so bad, but I want to upgrade my PC first I dont think I could really do it justice on my aging rig.
