yeah. i have recently played through 2 again on my new set, and i'm actually interested in 3 a bit. i HATE mini games in everything, so all the snowmobiles, tubes, sleds, hang gliders, etc, can suck a dick, but i actually thought the cutscenes looked kind of funny in a completely retarded sort of way.
basically, if the boarding still feels the same, and the game has progressed a bit, i'm definitely interested. the ability to tweak runs with objects at any point, and the MASSIVE mountains sound great.
there has to be someone at gaf that decided to pick this up.

Seriously though, I didn't mean to go for an all out troll. I've never played any of the Ampeds and certainly don't have an agenda against them. But I could have sworn there was a huge, negative backlash here on GAF when Amped 2 hit. I guess I could be mistaken and thinking of another game, however...

I got it, I haven't played it due to playing PDZ online a lot. I didn't know it'll be that addictive. Plus I'm working my way thru other games. I've yet to put a lot of time into it. I'll just say that it controls great from what I've played. It's been very little thus far. Also, the screen shots didn't give it any justice. It look nice

the amped series doesnt get the respect it deserves IMO. never has. while there are quite a few people that love it, there are easily more that dont. its a bit more sim, has a steep learning curve, and has some tough challenges.
as far as i know though, amped 2 is regarded among fans as a better game then the first.

has the gameplay been dumbed down? i've heard that the trick system has been a bit reworked and that landing tricks has been simplified...
hows the framerate? locked at 60?
i know there is a story mode, but is there also a career mode similar to the first 2? that is, do you increase your ranking playing through a variety of challenges (photo, sponsor, pro, etc)? if this isnt the case, are these modes still in the game somehow?
does the game give you a percentage of how much you've completed? if so, are you able to determine the length of the game from it? both amped 1 and 2 took quite a long time to play through all the challenges...

It has gotten pretty good reviews. If I was getting an X360 it would have been in my initial titles to pick up. Unfortunately I am making myself play through my backlog before getting the 360, so I'll probably be picking one up in two years LOL.

Yea, I'll have to at least try this at some point when I get a 360. Amped 2 was just relaxing, great fun online. I loved it.
