Yup, once I got over the ruinage of the season, I don't see anything wrong with what he did. He can quit whenever he wants. I believe him when he says he made the decision in 2 days. People quit their jobs on a whim all the time. Just not all of them walk away from millions of dollars. :lol Oh well, hope he works out his money problems. PEACE.ShadowRed said:on 60 minutes tonight? Thought it was very interesting. I have a lot of respect for the guy for what he did. Screw Miame, the sports writers and everyone else that are pissed because they can't make money off him.
ShadowRed said:Please get off the wrecked Miame's season pitty parade. 1 He was on his third strike he was gone for the year anyways. 2 If your team is built around one guy then you have a shitty team and probably wouldn't have gotten to the SuperBowl anyways because A Once other teams realized this they would compensate for the run and snuff him out as soon as he touches the ball, or B he is more likely to get injured since your offense is built around him running most of the time.

and one person can make a team...turn on ESPN right now and watch Manning and the Colts. Without Manning the colts are a 4 win team

Nowhere, because Hubie Brown was apparently having health problems.
I agree with the spirit of your post, but that was a bad comparison.

Ninja Scooter said:lets not forget that Dave Wannstadt technically "quit" on the team too (resigned, did he not?) as do so many coaches/gms in all sports, yet they never get called out on it. Where's the outrage on Hubie Brown quitting on the Grizzlies 1/4 of the way into a new season? Or Pat Riley quitting on the Heat just before the season started last year?
Wasn't there some drug problem with Quincy Carter and that's the main reason Purcell ditched him? That's what I heard at any rate. I know when Carter was with Georgia during the Donnan years, there were always reports of him into drugs of one kind or another. Him and others on the Georgia team (which is one reason why Donnan was canned supposedly, despite his good record with the team).Nerevar said:In a league where an owner or coach can cut an individual player for whatever fucking reason they want (see: Qunicy Carter, numerous other players each year), completely displacing him and fucking over his career, I have no problem with a player finally giving an owner and a team the middle finger and dicking them over for once.
There are differing accounts about why Carter was cut from the Cowboys, but yeah, the conventional wisom was that Donnan was lax on Carter's cocaine habit at UGA.MASB said:Wasn't there some drug problem with Quincy Carter and that's the main reason Purcell ditched him?
