on 60 minutes tonight? Thought it was very interesting. I have a lot of respect for the guy for what he did. Screw Miame, the sports writers and everyone else that are pissed because they can't make money off him.

It's not on in the West Coast yet. I saw the previews during the Raiders game and he seems crushed. He was practically crying when he said that the only place that he would fit in would be Oakland. It's like that's where all the degenerates go. :|

Yeah, I have a ton of a respect for a guy who bails on his team shortly before training camp because he wants to sit around and smoke weed.

Yup, once I got over the ruinage of the season, I don't see anything wrong with what he did. He can quit whenever he wants. I believe him when he says he made the decision in 2 days. People quit their jobs on a whim all the time. Just not all of them walk away from millions of dollars. :lol Oh well, hope he works out his money problems. PEACE.

goddamit, Griese!
i don't have anything against what he did, but i still say it was a terribly shitty thing to do to your team.

Please get off the wrecked Miame's season pitty parade. 1 He was on his third strike he was gone for the year anyways. 2 If your team is built around one guy then you have a shitty team and probably wouldn't have gotten to the SuperBowl anyways because A Once other teams realized this they would compensate for the run and snuff him out as soon as he touches the ball, or B he is more likely to get injured since your offense is built around him running most of the time.

do you watch football? the phins would have struggled to make the play-offs with williams, let alone superbowl...that's not the point.
and one person can make a team...turn on ESPN right now and watch Manning and the Colts. Without Manning the colts are a 4 win team

heh, well you bastards are getting Nick Saban as a coach next week.
What he will do for Miami is far and above what that idiot RB ever did.

I'm aware that Miame even with Ricky would have had a hard time making the playoffs. I was responding to everyone that is making it out like Ricky single handedly wrecked the season for them. As for the Colts they also have a offensive line and Harrison(?)WR. Without the protection the line affords Manning he couldn't make those passes. He isn't the only player on the Colts that make that team.

In a league where an owner or coach can cut an individual player for whatever fucking reason they want (see: Qunicy Carter, numerous other players each year), completely displacing him and fucking over his career, I have no problem with a player finally giving an owner and a team the middle finger and dicking them over for once.

lets not forget that Dave Wannstadt technically "quit" on the team too (resigned, did he not?) as do so many coaches/gms in all sports, yet they never get called out on it. Where's the outrage on Hubie Brown quitting on the Grizzlies 1/4 of the way into a new season? Or Pat Riley quitting on the Heat just before the season started last year?

:/

Nowhere, because Hubie Brown was apparently having health problems.

I agree with the spirit of your post, but that was a bad comparison.

Ricky was (and probably still is) having mental health problems. If he had gone out there half-assed and played when his head wasn't really into it, he would have gotten himself or someone else hurt.

:lol An offense with a different high level QB featuring Harrison and James are a four win team? :lol Good one...

Wasn't there some drug problem with Quincy Carter and that's the main reason Purcell ditched him? That's what I heard at any rate. I know when Carter was with Georgia during the Donnan years, there were always reports of him into drugs of one kind or another. Him and others on the Georgia team (which is one reason why Donnan was canned supposedly, despite his good record with the team).

There are differing accounts about why Carter was cut from the Cowboys, but yeah, the conventional wisom was that Donnan was lax on Carter's cocaine habit at UGA.
