I just finished watching the new DVD release one of my favorite movies for all time, and even if you own the original release (as I do, along with the DTS disc); the new one is worth picking up (Best Buy has it for $15) due to the new transfer on the disc.
The Dolby Digital mix is the same as the original, as are the extras, but they did do a new HD transfer and it looks much better than the original (even though that disc was pretty good for an early DVD). Much clearer with more detail and the colors are much better.
The one thing the old disc does have over this one is that you were able to listen to the entire soundtrack by using the chapter skip buttons while on the main menu.
