Apple and Sony are working on Vision Pro support for PSVR2 controllers

Should only be a matter of time until these begin to sell stand alone now. I also think the timing of this is really interesting in relation to the news on Dual Sense being able to pair with multiple devices at once.

Wonder if there is any chance of that wireless PSVR2 still. Despite people suggesting that PSVR2 is dead, new games continue to be announced for it... Lumines Arise, Thief...

I wonder how the Apple vision is tracking the PSVR2 controllers. Presumably, the built-in trackers in the controllers aren't compatible with the Vision Pro, so is the headset just tracking them the same way it tracks your hands? Or can the Vision Pro actually use the trackers, which are presumably IR.

I guess it would have no problem reading the gyro and accelerometer data, though.

Games is a huge weak spot for Apple Vision, glad they're rectifying this.

If you assume this isn't just for the ultra niche that own both PSVR2 and AVP, right?

So this should mean we should pretty quickly see stand alone Sense controllers in the PS Store, though I assume you'd be able to pair your sense controllers to multiple devices just like they're suggesting with Dual Sense. Allowing you to use PSVR2 on your console, PC, or pair with AVP.

I do wonder how it'll manage that.

How would they improve it without justifying calling it PSVR3?
The original PSVR had a revision V2 model.

Add a battery pack and transmitter/receiver to the headband to make it wireless?

They could even offer a wireless upgrade to the existing model as the headband and cabling are both easily detachable.

Exactly

Vive released a wireless adapter for their kit nearly 7 years ago

I think Sony would go for a WiFi 6E adapter if they did something rather than a 60 ghz adapter like the Vive Pro.

A revision with it built in and an adapter for existing users makes a lot of sense and can even be a revenue driver.
