Arc Revolution Cup 2016 and the rest of Toushinsai will be held on October 15 and 16 JST. It will start TOMORROW and the rest of the weekend.

Arc Revolution will occur the whole day on October 15 for main Arc System Works games, BlazBlue CentralFiction, Guilty Gear Xrd Revelator, Persona 4 The Ultimate Ultra Suplex Hold, Under Night inBirth exe:late (st), and Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax Ignition, and Toushinsai will have the rest of the games on October 16; Ultra Street Fighter IV, Tekken 7 Fated Retribution, King of Fighters 13 Climax, Dead or Alive 5: Arcade, Chaos Code, and NitroPlus Blasters.

Twitch and Nico should be broadcasting the weekend with most of the matches as well as commentary and interviews with players and developers from each game.

Thread will be organized by game and will include format, ALL PLAYERS/TEAMS, bracket, and twitter handles. Depends on who really gives a shit about learning how to get better or not, if you want a specific player to follow or know just ask. I can provide most if not all Xrd R, BBCF, and Tekken 7FR players.

I'm still formatting all the brackets, team information, and more.

I have hundreds of names to go through and not all the bracket spots are done yet, so I will be updating and hopefully be done with EVERY player and bracket and add in stream links by later today or early tomorrow.

Each section will have brackets and it will also have character breakdowns for how many characters appearing each game and matchup/featured player sections for players I'm familiar with and who I think are strong contenders.

The talent pool for BlazBlue and Guilty Gear is so ridiculously deep that people will get knocked out during qualifiers. You can qualify at a different location but not many people can or want to travel just to do that. A lot of players aren't in like dogura, ikamen, kinji, etc.

For people who play seriously, it is hard to make a Top 5, 10, or even 20 list of players because of the competitiveness and lack of real dominance. Most national tournaments with qualifiers are, you make it in then you have a good chance to go all the way and win it over a veteran.

The number of characters appearing also isn't always completely indicative of how strong or good a character is. Bullet and Amane are two pretty good characters who aren't in because not lack of people play them and the best players couldn't qualify. Taokaka and Kagura are in but they're no where near as good as the former. The same can be said with the number of Ino players in relation to say Millia.

Thanks for posting this Shun. Gonna follow Blazblue (and maybe Persona). Rooting for Ronitta and Mokemoke.
Also wishing that Liz player in Persona the best of luck. They're gonna need it.

Every year I'm still disappointed to see single elim remains as the format, especially considering all the intermission. Always seems like a fun event, but mostly for Japanese viewers.

Guilty Gear Xrd is starting now.

4 players were disqualified for tardiness for the designated rehearsal and meeting times for Champions Cup.

RIP Ogawa, Omito, ET, and Hage.

Edit: Disqualifications were rescinded, Ogawa and ET were able to participate and Ogawa just knocked out ET.

I'm not sure I understand the schedule. Xrd is happening right now, but what does 64 > 8 mean, exactly? I assumed that it meant this segment will end with 8 players left, but then where's it being played on October 16?

It's not being played tomorrow. Right now is all 64 players down to Best 8. Xrd will be happening then after this will be BBCF teams from 32 to top 4 teams.

All Arc System Works games + FCI( Which ended), are all today only.

Tomorrow on the 16 is Ultra Street Fighter 4, Tekken 4 Fatal Retribution, KOF, etc.

That section are for last minute day of qualifiers where they bring it down to 1 or 2 teams/players to be added to the main bracket for those games.

BBCF will have 2 on site qualifiers, whereas Guilty Gear had all their players qualified prior and has no on site qualifiers.

Edit 3: And Liz just got destroyed by Minazuki. Also, I don't think Kazuhisa Wada was there on commentary. At least, they didn't show him.

I thought the first round of the final was a real impressive Bedman showing stopping Leo's rush with all Bedman's traps. 3rd round was close too. Dude got cornered and murdered 2nd round though.
