Were there any sequels that actually improved on Gamecube? I always hear how the N64 versions were better.

HELL no. Pokemon Colosseum destroyed my hopes for a new Pokemon Stadium, that's all I wanted, a new Pokemon Stadium game so I could fight through tournaments like the originals, and what I got was a half completed Pokemon Stadium and a shitty RPG mode that I was forced to play through just so i'd have Pokemon to use in the tournaments. You can't even RENT Pokemon in Pokemon Colloseum, it's impossible for me to verse my friends because they don't have GBA and 200 hour Pokemon GBA files. Plus, the mini games in 1 and 2 were a nice distraction, and i'd go as far as saying they're better than the entire RPG mode in Pokemon Colloseum.Pokemon Colosseum >>> Pokemon Stadium
Yep, but Mario Party 5 > 1, 2, 3 >>> 4CVXFREAK said:Mario Party 5 > Mario Party 1, 2, 3

F-Zero GX > F-Zero X
Nope
Animal Crossing > Animal Forest
There was an animal crossing on N64?

Yeah, they were just nice fillers. I would never use them if I had a well balanced party of 6 on my GBA.CVXFREAK said:Oh snap, misread your post there.
Rental Pokemon were alright, but IIRC, they weren't as powerful or customized.

I am going to pick this out again because I think it is crucial. Tight control is key.etiolate said:While Mario Kart DD is more like a different flavor than another level, it doesn't have any of these issues and the control is even tighter.
wow, I don't think this at all, I think I can do really well every time, and while the computer can get lucky, well, so can I (and it has happened), it's not really a one-way deal...drohne said:oh, and double dash's cheating ai took all the joy out of the single player game. 150cc was just a matter of repeating courses ad nauseam and praying that you didn't get taken out in the last several seconds. ridiculous.
I don't get what you mean by "average quality", as in, after both being released SSBM is better, but SSB was a better game without SSBM, but SSBM is not as good as it would be with SSB having being there first?ourumov said:Efralope, there are two things that make you enjoy a game:
1. The average quality of the game. And in this SSBM totally slaps SSB...
2. How much the game wows you....But here SSB wins by a long shot. I don't know why but SSBM only spinned on my GC for a couple of months. I got bored very fast while this never happened with the N64 version.
I don't know what happened but SSBM failed to wow my brother and me...
double dash features better racing than 64, but the racing is still only good for a couple hours of idle play. the whole point of mario kart -- or at least post-snes mario kart -- is battle mode. and double dash's battle mode is a disaster. 64's battle mode was tremendous fun in spite of the fact that the block fort was the only well-designed arena. all double dash needed to give us were several arenas of that quality. instead it gave us no arenas of any quality at all. sigh.

IMO, the Nintendo of this gen has failed to deliver the content you would expect from them. Great games like Pikmin or LM, thoughIMO, the Nintendo of this gen has failed to deliver the content you would expect from them. Great games like Pikmin or LM, though .
true, bomb blast is a load of fun, but ESPECIALLY in the Luigi's Mansion stage...etiolate said:Regular battle on DD is not so fun, but bomb-blast and shine thief are wacky fun. Actually, it seems like the battle levels were designed more with those games in mind. Perhaps they just work better for those games. I love getting a fat stack of bombs in Luigi's Mansion and then driving up to the top level and tossing them down through the roof. It's like Hiroshima.
What? That's never happened to me, if I was having a good race and racing well I had no troubles winning while the rest of the pack was a fair bit behind.drohne said:oh, and double dash's cheating ai took all the joy out of the single player game. 150cc was just a matter of repeating courses ad nauseam and praying that you didn't get taken out in the last several seconds. ridiculous.
