For me, it's Bloodborne (what a surprise, I know). I finished the game when it came out and put well over 100 hours into it, but I never played the DLC since I'd finished the game by the time it came out.

I'm very tempted to replay it with the advantages the Pro could bring, but if a remake came out after that, it's very unlikely I'd play it a third time. I just don't have that much time to spend on one game.

MGS4 is another one. It's been a looooong time since I played that one. I still have the disk and a working PS3, but it would be awesome to play it at a higher resolution and frame rate. Twilight Princess is in there as well (except I never actually played that one when it came out).

What about you? Are there any games you've held off on playing because you think a better version might come out? Or would you rather play the versions that are out there right now?

I don't care for graphical or perfomance issue. So remasters does nothing to me. I'll play remaster if I haven't play the original game since it's probably more accessible.

Regarding remake, a potential or even announced remake makes me want to play the original first even more to compare to the remake.

So no, I never stop playing a game because a new version might come.

I recently stop playing Vagrant Story and hope for a remaster or remake, but it's was due to the fact that gameplay was too frustrating after 15 hours and it really needs some adjustment to make it more user friendly to navigate all its systems.

Waiting doesn't make much sense unless a remake/remaster was already announced.

I will wait for my Final Fantasy Tactics remaster until I die.

I'd disagree here. For instance, even though they're technically not remakes or remasters, there are some PS5 games I've held off on playing because I knew the PS5 Pro would be coming out, and the experience was going to be better on that system. I took a break from my FFVII Rebirth playthrough for this reason. Same with Elden Ring.

Okay that's not what you asked though. I am waiting to play Cyberpunk until I upgrade my GPU to one that can run it in Overdrive mode, waiting for hardware upgrades is not the same as waiting for a remake or remaster.

This is also why I haven't bought Metaphor yet, even though the circumstances are somewhat different.

I got tired of buying 100+ hour RPGS from Atlus only to have them release the SUPER MEGA+ Edition a year or two later with no upgrade path for existing owners of the originals.

Title said remake/remaster. If you are already happy with more power get a pc.

That's fair. It's a related point but not quite the same.

Gonna wait for the GTA VI re-remaster on PS7.

Come to think about it GTA VI will be the GTA played for the entire PS6 generation. We'll be lucky to GTA VII on the PS7.

Sony 1st party games - I'll wait a few years for the remaster since that's all they do is remaster games instead of making new ones.
Everything else i'll play when it comes out.
Zero interest in MGS3 and Silent Hill 2 remasters as i played them alot on PS2. I dont want to waste my time playing the same game again since i know how the story goes.

Put off my TLOU 1 replay because the remaster was announced. I've been waiting on Alien Isolation remaster at this point whether I wait or not doesn't matter I have plenty to play.

My knee-jerk answer was "no" because I wouldn't wait for a potential remake/remaster if I want to play something but I will wait for PC ports of some games before playing/replaying. That doesn't mean I always wait though. I happily bought and completed Stellar Blade early this year but I am waiting for it's PC release to replay it with the new stuff they've added/changed.

Remakes and remasters are completely different. A remaster often defeats the purpose of the original, but major remakes do not.

As great as Resident Evil 2 remake is, it does not replace the original. They are each their own game and both still worth playing.

I'm waiting for the Gothic Remake so i won't be playing the original until then. Unless the Gothic remake sucks so i will return to the original.

RE Code Veronica maybe? It's probably the only "bigger" Resident Evil I haven't played. I'm not a fan of tank controls mixed with fixed cameras and I know I wouldn't return to RE2&3 after finishing their remakes, even knowing about the cut out content.

Dragon Age Origins and 2. Have been wanting to replay them. But I don’t want to play it in PS3.
Xcom was awful on ps3, had to drop it.

Before the obligatory “Just play on Pc”, no.
Despite not being remastered I not only played those but also Awakening, the frame rate dips are there which is expected.

Got the honor to play twilight princess hd, it’s a great hd remake, the Wii version was awful, I respect the GameCube version.

I played it in the 1990s but want to play through SS2 and been waiiting on Night Dive for over a year.

I also want to play Black Flag and that has had a remake rumored for a while. I would be fine with a PS5 patch on the PS4 version running at 4K/60fps, honestly.

I mean it's not exactly the same but I've started mostly skipping current gen games that don't run at at least 1080p 60fps on Ps5. I've no interest in going back to 30fps and I don't want to play or support 720p games with shitty FSR upscalling.

I'll just play them at some point in the future on Ps6 or if I get a PC, with the added bonus that by then they'll be like $20 and fully patched.

You know with Switch 2 Nintendo is gonna drop a metric crap ton of definitive edition Switch games with all the DLC. My recent restraint (past few years other than my spouse getting new Zelda) will be rewarded.
