It's crazy that they excluded it from the Mario 3D All-Stars collection..

I'm hoping we see it in some capacity during the 40th Anniversary celebration.
I cant help but feel Galaxy 2 was excluded because they never want thier audience to hold all thier platformers to that standard because it was so good. It literally is flawless. I think like my only complaint was you cant use the powers in the tiny hub area and the boo hat is a bit underwhelming (I think you use it twice?).

Hard to call it a golden age, when it's at most one good platformer being released per year. I do hope that developers are seeing that the demand is there and that start making a comeback. Absolutely love the genre.

A Hat in Time not being a poll option is wild. That game is spectacular. It gets it, in the same way something like Banjo did. Worlds are fun and playful, with a variety of objectives that each build to a reward. It's the antithesis of something like Mario Odyssey which just spits power moons at you like they're going out of style and is comprised mostly of levels that come out of a level design playbook (outside of New Donk City which is legit cool).
I just played this game over the past couple weeks and I don't really get the hype that it gets. It feels like it got great word of mouth simply due to there not being many other 3D platformers in the space.
Game is really rough around the edges and the worlds don't feel connected to each other. The variety is pretty cool and it does some interesting things with the platforming in the later worlds but everything just feels clunky. Collection doesn't feel rewarding as all the orbs respawn when you return to a level.
