I sell everything I didn’t use for a few months / a year. I will not list it for free, but equal consideration to price is getting rid of it - I don’t want things to physically lie around.
When I started doing that 20 years ago I got into an argument with my mother - she is a hoarder, refuses to sell anything even things she didn’t touch for years now, and never will.

Which one are you?

I'm not a hoarder. From time to time I go over everything that I have, clothes and such, and I donate most of it.

My sister, who I live with, is very much a hoarder. So much that we had to convert one of the bedrooms into a storage area. Now I can barely get inside.

If I need anything that's in there I have to shuffle things around just to enter. It's horrible.

No. I do collect some video games and movies but other than that I try to live a minimalist lifestyle. I don't want a lot of things just for the sake of it. I want things that I have use of, regularly. If I don't I'll sell it or give it away. Otherwise it just becomes a burden.

No.... but I have 4 computers...soo maybe I'm just a nerd. That said I do get rid off stuff I dont use. Especially clothes. Either sell em or just throw them in the trash. Nothing worse for home zen then having all kind of stuff just gathering around in every corner. Have what you use and get rid off the rest. Being in a relationship with a hoarder would be stuff of nightmares :S

I sell everything that I don't plan to use anymore (or throw it into trash). That's why I have my fifth PS3, haha.
David B alt? Quick question, how many gaming PCs have you bought and sold in the last week?

No one shall be brought before our LORD David Bowie without the true and secret knowledge of the Photoshop. For in that time, so shall He appear.
I’m not a hoarder, but I don’t sell my video games. I’ve just got a big house with lots of storage space.

That said, I really could stand to reorganize things…

My dad was kind of a hoarder, sells nothing everything at some point still has a use even when things aren't touched for over a decade plus.

Myself if i don't use it for a year i throw it away or sell it off, no point in taking up space.

Recovering. I still hold on too many things but I have been gradually letting more and more of them go.

I'm not a hoarder, I'll eventually play all the games in my backlog. Sure I'll have to live to 200 but I'll have fun. (Look, I played Ninja Gaiden black in 2022, 17 years after I got it.)

Exposing the sinister cartel of retailers who allow companies to pay for advertising space.
I'd be a hoarder if I didn't have such a small apartment. I have to get rid of old stuff to make space for new stuff. And sometimes that's a shame.I threw away my C64, C128, A500, Atari ST plus a number of CRT monitors and TVs, many hundreds of computer/video games magazines, my collection of physical C64 and PC games, Playstation 1, all of my cassette and VHS tapes, most of my DVD collection, etc etc. And there'll no doubt come a point when the same thing is going happen to stuff I value highly right now.

I always sell/give away when I no longer need something. Have been reducing my physical media. The only games I have are my PS1/2 games and I even sold a bunch of them recently. Same for my blu rays. Only have 3 or so left. Have about 20 books.

I stream music/movies/tv. Books I will only buy a physical copy if I read it on my Kindle first and like it enough. Games…all digital now. I’ll never buy a physical game again.

Whatever it may be I will get rid of it when I don’t need it. I hate shit taking up too much space.

I still have 90% of the games & consoles I have had since 1985 ~ NES/SNES/N64/PSP/PSV/PSTV/PS1/2/3/4/5/OGXbox/X360 WITHOUT HDMI and more...

Yeah I'm a hoarder ~ Proud of it! But to be fair, it's of launch day consoles I bought as an adolescent through today that I cherish as my history more than a valuable item.

I keep things that are useful, sell things that are no longer useful to me but have no value, and try to avoid purchasing too many new things unless I really want or need them.

I would like to sell, but have no time/energy posting and keep track, etc…. So became unintentional hoarder. So these days, I tend to not buy much.

If there’s some sort of services or agency who would do, I could look out for their services, at some fixed rates…

I definitely hoard. I have 12 large tubs of video game stuff in my garage. Almost everything from the magnavox odyssey 2, to the commodore 128 all the way up to ps4/xbone. I also have hundreds of vhs tapes. I guess its more of a collection, but wife sees it as hoarding.

There needs to be a third option. I take the old stuff to the garbage / drive it to the local pickup point specializing in claiming old electronics etc. Absolutely don't want to be bothered with people trying to negotiate stuff you're selling almost for free or expecting you'd deliver it to them.

Minimalist here, In my youth I worked for the local council clearing out hoarded homes where the tenants had run from paying rent...Man the stories I got from those couple of yrs lol

Hoarder. Can't be bothered (yet) to get around to box things to donate and I'm sentimental.

My mom was always and still is a hoarder… and for her it’s kind if like a sickness. Been a few years since I’ve been at her place but back then it was FULL of stuff. You could not even walk there properly. Very sad…

I guess going through all this cured me from hoarding. I’m quite minimalistic. Sure, I still collect Steelbooks and books but I only have 2 racks for each. When I buy something new, something old goes into the trash.

Everything else I have I usually also use. I have no extra clothes. Two outfits for each day. Here as well, when I buy something new, something old has to go.

I never sell my stuff nor am I a hoarder. I throw away what isn't needed anymore, but I'm careful about my purchases so I don't really buy useless stuff. I was curious about minimalism for a while, but it just seemed like a way for people to buy "minimalistic" stuff that actually complicated their lives.

Not really. I find it super liberating to either throw shit away or donate stuff I don't need anymore.

Yeah i am, i keep thinking i might need that at some point so i don't throw many things away then i forget completely about it and can't remember what i saved it for. i eventually get rid of things much later than i should.

I got into regularly purging stuff a year after purchasing my first house. I ran out of closet space and started looking at all the old stuff I had been keeping from my childhood. Stuff that seemed really important when I was younger just felt like old useless junk taking up space.

I don't get rid of everything now, but I do go through each room during the March-June timeframe and look for things to get rid of. I don't think I've gotten rid of anything that I later felt the need to repurchase. No regrets.

Hoarder I keep everything

I collect toys and have just started throwing the boxes out because I ran out of room

Very happy with my minimalist lifestyle. In the past I found myself constantly looking for things to buy, trying to satisfy myself in some way, but that never happened no matter how much I bought. Obviously I still buy things occasionally, but keeping it restricted has worked out for me.
