Based on what you said, how can anyone determine what they want to buy then, besides a 360, since nothing is out? Based on spoken word, and on paper, that sounds like the ultimate combo to me - in theory.

This entire thread is basically speculation untill all three systems have been played by the individual, so my post is sound enough.

I already got the 360 and I'll get Rev at launch too. I'll get the PS3 a year or two down the line when it is more affordable and the game prices are down, the 360 and Rev will suck enough money out of my pocket until then

I'm thinking of *gasp* dropping Nintendo... currently I support 3 consoles, 2 handhelds and PC. Money isn't a factor, but time is - even if I cut back to the games I want most, I would never have enough time to play everything I want from all these platforms...so my current plan is to go PS3, PSP, X360 and PC only, until my son is old enough to game (another 4-5 years probably), and then I'll get him a Revolution2 or whatever...

Based on past support of the PS line, I think it's safe to say PS3 will get quite a bit of support (Sony's studios + 2nd party + 3rd party exclusives + multiplatform) and Rev is Nintendo, so their first party games are essentially the reason for a purchase (and virtual console). For me (and a lot of people I know), X360 is the wild card... it is the console that needs to prove itself, because based on previous generation it, frankly, didn't do it for me.

I dunno, it seems pretty likely that for many gamers PS3 + Rev will offer the best combination, barring any wild changes in dev support from previous generations (which don't look very likely from what we've seen so far).

Differing opinions, and I can fully understand his.

It would just be ridiculous to go single console. Now that I've graduated college, and have a good job, I have much better buying power. As a result, it's going to be that much harder for me to stick to one console. There's too much awesome stuff coming out on all the different consoles.

Well, unless you import you're going to have to wait until after E3 anyway. But I think with both you know what you're getting. With the PS3 you're getting amazing first/second party support and top notch 3rd party support. With the Rev you're getting amazing first/second party support and some good 3rd party support.

I owned all 3 consoles this gen and hardly played XBox and GCN so they really weren't worth owning for my gaming tastes.

I will own all 3 next gen but the X360 only because of work related reasons otherwise it would just be Rev and PS3.
