Are you planning on going single console only next-gen?

Lol no. Nintendo fan in my must get the Revo, PS2 fan in me must get the PS3, and I already jumped the gun and got an X360 (skipped out on the DC and Xbox 180 last gen).

Not a chance. I'm definitely picking up a 360 in the next month and there is no way I would ever go without the PS3. The Revolution is an unknown quantity but I have a feeling Nintendo are going to deliver something great so I plan on getting that too.

Three console future thx :D

I'm limiting my gaming spending for now on, so yes I will just own one console. I plan to go with Nintendo since I've always owned one.

I'll get a 360 this spring/summer.... when there's more than 2 games I want. Rev will probably wait until next year, PS3 depends on how much JP support 360 eats.

yeah I'll just go with a nintendo this time, possibly a PS3 if the price was ever to become reasonable.

I've never needed more than one console (for each generation, and I mean home consoles only) and it's always been Nintendo's console. There's the best games for my tastes, actually pretty much the only games for my tastes. "Realistic" racing games, "realistic" fighting games, first person shooters and such aren't really my cup of tea, and those are basically the only genres Nintendo's consoles haven't had that much.

Next generation is pretty much the same. Revolution is all I need as I know there's going to be those Nintendo's games I like and some 3rd party games which might be interesting. Also I've somewhat lost my interest in the old-fashioned gameplay, and Revolution should fix that as well (Nintendo DS already did that on the handheld side).

PlayStation 3 is the only definite. Although I will say that I refuse to spend more than $300 on the machine so that might mean waiting a year, possibly more.

For Revolution, it all depends on the games. I don't care about "teh innovative", I care about fun games. If the Nintendo games on Revolution are like the ones on Game Cube, I'll probably pass it up entirely. Virtual Console is pretty important to me too so I hope prices are kept low. The most I'll pay for this system is $200.

Xbox 360 is probably the one I'll least likely buy. The only thing that will make it interesting is the emulation scene. Playing MAME and all that in 3.2 GHz should kick ass. The rest of the games, as looking them up online, doesn't really interest me outside of Ninety Nine Nights, Ridge Racer 6, and a couple others. If Banjo Kazooie 3 gets released on it, I'll get the system. The most I'll pay for it is probably $150.

So for right now, I'm only definite on one machine but it could end up being all three.

I go one console at launch and get the others if I deem it necessary when their price drops. This gen it was PS2 at 299.99, GCN at 149.99, and Xbox for free from Mountain Dew. :D

Next gen I'm probably going to get Rev first, unless PS3 is at 300 or less, in which case I might get that first.

PS3 = Definite
I think it's a pretty big lock that the PS3 will at the very least get as much support as the PS2, if not more, especially from Japanese devs. The 360 is doing even worse than I expected there, and I think it will prove too much of a risk financially to put any major franchises on the Rev exclusively; thus I think the PS3 will be the safest, most financially sound choice, which equals great TP support. Plus MGS4, GT5 and FFXIII have already cemented my purchase.

Rev = Greatly dependant on E3 showing
I've gone from likely no to probably yes back to 50/50 either way. Nintendo's E3 showing is going to be a big factor for me, because I want to see where Nintendo wants to take this machine. I'm extremely skeptical about how well the controller will perform with some of my favorite genres sans gimmicks, and the 'FU technology' ideology from Nintendo with the machine is very disappointing. Yet, I've owned every single Nintendo system, and I may not be able to resist a new Mario and Zelda...

360 = Ask me again next year
I thought for sure I'd pass on this system, after both my regret with purchasing the first Xbox, and my subpar impressions with my neighbor's 360 and a few of it's launch titles. But N3 is looking real nice, and I'm intrigued to see what else MS can muster at E3 this year. However, I often get caught up in the pre-release anticipation of games, so when the games this year have come and gone, I'll have a much better idea if I actually want to plunk down the dough.

Probably...as years goes by my backlog of games only increases...This gen I already skipped one system (XB) and still have tons of games to play...I guess next gen I'll get just the PS3.

I once thought of it. I have them all this time around (save the DS, including the DC) - and I'm unable to finish many games because newer games take over older games in my backlog. So I had decided to go single console next-gen.

But I've thought about it and changed my mind. I won't buy all of them for sure (I have realized it is just too much) - but I will seriously consider two consoles... or maybe three if I can get the third for cheap when the other two are dry. :(

I'm so weak. I almost know I'll end up with all of them. :(

Bought the 360 on launch day - haven't regretted it at all

Revolution - I'll probably buy but only if the software support is good. I also expect Nintendo to make SOME effort next gen wrt 5.1 audio in games and widescreen support as standard. It'll probably be a US import when I get one though

PS3 - Probably but not for a while. I may import a US machine because I hate SCEE so much.

PS3 = Depends on online
Rev = Yup
360 = Depends on games
that's pretty hmm stupid, so if PS3 doesn't have a great online service you will skip it? I'm sure the PS3 will have a LOT of great games that will no require online play but hey that's your decision not mine.

anyway to be on-topic. PS3+Revolution for me. I had all three this gen and while it was good I simply do not have the money for 3 systems now.

Yes. I bought a PS2 and Xbox this gen and I'm not so sure if that was the greatest idea.
Softmodding my Xbox was pretty cool, though.

But seriously, I'm not going to have as much money to spend between two consoles (I barely did this time) so I'm just gonna go with a PS3.

I find it strange how some people say they'll be getting a 360 and PS3, but "definitely not" the Revolution. Everyone has their own opinions, but I imagine the 360 and PS3 will share a lot games and features whereas the Revolution will most likely be something completely different and full of exclusives. That's why it's hard for me to decide between the PS3 and Revolution. It'd be nice if we knew more about either system.

Nope. I'll get a PS3 at launch for sure, maybe a Rev at launch depending on launch games and price, and a 360 in 2007 when Blue Dragon, Lost Oddyssy, and Halo 3 come out.

Unless you can't survive a generation without Nintendo games, the Xbox 360 is the better choice.

1) Better graphics.
2) More support.
3) Much better online.

And like this generation, I suspect that there will be more Xbox 360 games that you can't get on the PS3/Rev than Revolution games you can't get on the PS3/360.

The Xbox 360 is not a redundant machine, though I completely understand not being able to afford both an Xbox 360 and a PS3. (I'm one of those people, since I won the 360)

Yeah that was confusing, I'm referring to the corresponding companies' consoles.

In other words, there are more Xbox console exclusives than Gamecube console exclusives.

My decision will have nothing to do with the cost of any system. I only really have time to devote to one.

I'll be a poor university student next year so its a 2 console future for me.

Rev is a given. I am yet to decide whether I am complementing it with a PS3 or a 360, I'll make that call after e3. I am leaning towards a 360 at the moment though. Kaz better show me more than Powerpoint slides at e3.

i think it depends on money lol. Things like this always have something to do with money, this entertainment is HELLA expensive! one of the most expensive Entertainment to enjoy

I'll have PS3 and Revo on launch day if possible. I'm still deciding on whether to get a 360 or not. I'd like to hear some more announcements from Square-Enix before grabbing one (I have a bad feeling FFXI may be the sum total of their X360 support)

I'll definately get the Revolution by the end of this year since I'm a Nintendo fan and it will be the cheapest. I'll wait until at least one pricedrop before I got the 360 and PS3. So I guess the answer is no. I'll start as single console owner, but as always I'll eventually have them all.

Umm, okay. You know this without knowing anything about the Rev at all. Not saying that it won't have more support, but in this industry there are no sure things.

I've always just gamed on one console. Atari 2600 - NES - Genesis - SNES - N64-Dreamcast-Xbox/GC. This gen I tried owning 2 consoles and IMO, it just wasn't worth it. Inevitably one console got most of the playing time and the other collected dust.

I've already got a backlog of 360 games thanks to achievements and XBLA, so I know that the 360 can totally take all my gaming time if I let it. That being said, I'm very interested in the Revolution and if the PS3 is clearly more impressive than 360 then I'll get it.

So just 360 unless something very compelling happens in the other two camps.

Buying all three, but I am curious as to whether the PS3 will be region free, specifically since the Australian division of SCE is campaigning for it quite heavily (so they can win any cases against modchippers, since the High Court ruled that modding for getting around region protection is perfectly legal). If it doesn't end up that way, I'll probably import one.

Games are different - I'll tighten up on those.

I feel kinda burned this gen for having had all 4 systems. DC/GC were great, PS2 was a step down from PS goodness and Xbox plain stank for me. Plus handhelds really came into their own for me...my GBC collection is tiny compared to GBA/DS. So right now I'm thinking PS3 only right now. Revolution sounds dumb so far and X360 will probably be as weak as the first for me. PS3 one console future? Drinky wins!

PS3 - No Brainer
REV - Definitely
360 - Probably not. I don't game online so I won't be getting full use out of the system.
