I am pretty sure that's running on PS3 and those are caps from the PS3 trailer. The game was annouced for X360 at TGS.

Looks good but Armored Core needs to die.
 
Holy shit! That's far and away the most impressive looking X360 game I've seen. Good lord. VERY impressed!

After the visual masterpiece Otogi/Otogi 2 on XBOX...I'm not suprised. FROM really knows there shit (visually). Hopefully other 360 developers will follow suit. It just *LOOKS* next-gen.

It may be running on the PS3, but this is not from the "Project Force" trailer first shown at the PlayStation Festival in July...

I have never seen these shots before...

Where can I see this X360 trailer??

I only saw the TGS "Armored Core 4" trailer, which was a 100% duplicate of the PS3 Project Force trailer...


This is something different....and it looks hot...

Project Force is Armored Core 4. The trailer at the Playstation 2005 meeting was just a teaser, From Software released a full trailer at TGS.

No, thats from 360 trailer that was being shown at MS booth, at Sony booth they were showing old Project Force trailer (which doesn't mean PS3 version won't end up looking better in the end and vice versa).

If they can get this on-line (for both systems, it will be nice to use damn near ten years of experience to school Xbots) then there will be a good god damned reason for AC to continue existing.

Otherwise, if From Software tries foisting off an offline AC game on the PS3 I hope SCEA gets to the developer genital mutilation without hesitation. :D

Similar but not the same......first set of pix have more aliasing and better lighting....2nd set has less aliasing and better textures, plus a little bit of haze...


X360 am awesome!!!
 
Yeah, I'm thrilled to finally see something that REALLY takes advantage of the 360 hardware.

Hopefully they've learned some lessons about game design so it actually plays well.
 
Doom, I am aware AC4 is the official name of Project Force...

I would very much like to see the new AC4 trailer that was running at the MS booth rather than the AC4 trailer that was running at the Sony booth, which was just old Project Force footage...


Anyone have even cam footage of the MS AC4??
 
OK, that trailer was incredible. I can't believe how amazing this looks in motion.

Other 360 developers need to take note...

Self-shadows, HDR lighting, crazy effects, tons of geometry, fantastic animation, etc. etc. Easily the best looking 360 game yet shown.
 
I'm expecting some good things from FROMSOFTWARE as far as technical execution goes. To this day Otogi 1/2 are some of the best looking Xbox titles out there
 
Were those really in-engine shots? I doubted it at TGS, but amazing. I don't think this and Project Force are different games. I think they are just completely different builds. This one looks a million times better than the one shown at the PS Party, so I'd assume this is the improvements in the game since then. Otherwise, From Software completely sucks with the PS3. :lol If that's really in-game/engine then it just dropped a fat deuce on Chrome Hounds. That mid-air explosion was really fucking cool, btw. The one with the force-field. PEACE.

The action in this game is very fast paced...and did you see the draw distance and complexity of the city in the beginning? :0

Intrest in this game shot WAY up for me....

Who knows, Famitsu article stated game is at 10% of development.
On other note producer of AC4 will be Eiichi Nakajima who supposedly worked on A.C.E. games before, some hysteric AC fans might fear that From is planning to 'dumb-down' franchise to appeal more to a Gundam crowd. Frankly I wouldn't mind that.
 
Well lookie here. The lighting, anti-aliasing, textures, geometry and image clarity are all far superior on the Xbox 360 version. :)

The best thing that could happen to the series is if they started using things from ACE in it.
 
Hopefully they make the game fun to play instead of just a robo garage simulation. I want this game to play as easily has mech assualt. There is no reason why it shouldn't.

If From would have just called the game Armored Core 4 from the beginning instead of Project Force, that would have saved a lot of confusion...

Yes, Project Force=AC4 and AC4=Project Force....they are the same game coming out for X360 and PS3 (kinda like RE5) but the "problem" is:


1-First they announce the game on one system with one name

2-Then they show the same footage on the same system at TGS but with a different name

3-Then they show different footage of the same game (with the new name) on a different system at the same show!!!...WTF were you thinking From Software???


At any rate, AC4 on X360 is up to PS3 quality at this point, which is more than I can say for alot of other X360 titles shown sofar....


Did I mention this game looks hot to boot???

I'd really like to see a newer build on PS3 as well. The Project Force trailer is old...

I wonder if they will end up as the same game?
 
I think these screens are from the PS3 version. When did the devs get the final X360 kits? Epic got it a week or two before E3 and smaller devs like FS would have to wait for it. And some of you are saying that they ported a game which was announced for PS3 to X360 in a short period of time and got it to look better on the beta kits?

MS probably paid FS to show Armored Core at their booth only. And its easy to enhance graphics in two or three months (regarding Klee's comparison).

I'm not saying they should change it into another series. But the popularity has dropped severly over the years, its not even a blip on the radar anymore. So doing some reworking wouldn't hurt while keeping the essential things of the series in it.

I don't remember them showing the Project Force trailer for the 360 at TGS. That must have been a mixup. The only trailer I ever saw for AC4 is the one these shots are from. It should be realtime considering they had parts of the city built, as well as that main mech. But I have a hard time believing they are both the same build, yet so clearly far apart in quality. I mean, the 360 version is clearly FAR superior to what we saw at the PS fest. I mean, when you watch the vid, it's not even close IMO. Hell, I thought it was a render at the time, just b/c I didn't think they would have gotten that much of the engine updated from when it was shown for the PS3. That and none of the mainstream sites ran with the 360's MGS4 for the show. That forcefield blast sequence left me a little slackjawed when I first saw it...it was that good. But this was clearly shown at the 360 booth at TGS. I don't think anything of the game was shown for the PS3 at TGS though.

This looks shit hot though. GODDAMN!!! I can't wait to see how this one ends up, b/c if this is 10% then look the fuck out. :D :D :D PEACE.

The action seem frantic......not quite ZOE levels but pretty fast nonetheless..

And the amount of geometry being displayed in the overhead shot of the City at the beginning of the movie is ZOMG!

good goddamn that looks nice...dunno how i missed it. i expect strong visuals from the otogi team (who i believe are working on enchant arm), but armored core games generally look mediocre. this would be amazing on xbox live too. can't wait.

Popularity where?

So far as I recall, AC has been doing well enough on it's own in Japan as it always has; and completely stinking up the shelves here in the US. AC has never been a blip on the radar on these shores. It only managed to sneak onto the PS2 top ten first week sales charts in the US due to being a launch title.

The problem is primarily From Software's ignorance to the worldwide on-line gaming market. US AC fans have wanted the game on-line ever since Agetec prematurely announced that Another Age was going to be released here with direct dial play intact back in 2001, or 2002.

AC needs to go on-line, so folks can see it for the great competitive game it is; and not the parts farming BS released annually on the PS2 here in the US. It's all about the Versus play.

Yes, there is a real possibility this is just a newer build of the PS3 version....

I am kinda leaning towards it being an X360 build because the older PS3 build has alot more HDR and aliasing :)
 
Its not like it looks any better than Chrome Hounds anyway. I wouldn't find it hard to believe. I'd assume From would be one of the early recipients of final kits, as they are probably the #2 japanese xbox 360 supporter.

If it was for a newer PS3 version, why wasn't the trailer shown for both the Xbox 360 and PS3 at TGS?

specifically showcase these screens are for Xbox 360 and the others are for PS3? That wouldn't make sense if this was a new build of the PS3 version.

While I agree that it's probably 360, the amount of HDR lighting between the two is extremely similar. The time of day is simply different. Remember, HDR lighting need not appear "blooming"...

I don't see why PS3 would have more aliasing either. It's like people still have PS2 vs XBOX in their minds. This is nVidia vs ATI, and we know that both offer crystal clear image quality in their products.

That much is obvious. They are downsized. The actual resolution would be 1280x720. Properly downsizing such a shot will result in something like this. It should be very clean at full resolution, though.
 
I'm a big AC fan but I have to say I think you're all gearing yourselves up for a letdown.

AC2 was a launch title for PS2, its early media was great, then the actual game came out and wasn't nearly as visually impressive. From makes good looking games, but they don't have the budget to fund first generation system showpieces. I'm willing to bet that come release this will be a little better than par for the course on each system, but far from a visual showpiece on either.
