Army recruitment down

You know, I've been thinking about joining the Army too for money for school, but I was waiting for this whole "war on terrorism" business to be over. I know what you're thinking(what a wimp!), but the way I see it, if I join up I want to be able to train for something like 5 years before I get put in the line of fire so I could be like on Solid Snake's level.

If you want to join the military for school money, join the Air Force then. Pick a job where you won't be sent over, like 1C6 (satellite systems operator & space surveillance). You'll just hang out in california for one year and colorado for three years.

Two things..

1. I don't want to join the military and do nothing. I would atleast like to do something exciting like jumping out of a plane or something.

2. I've been hearing a lot of stories/rumors(straight from the horses mouth) that the Air Force is cutting back on it's numbers. Maybe the people who decided against army/marines decided to go with the Air Force and Navy.

Although, my calculus/c++/asm professor is always like "The Navy paid for my education... suckers!!" :lol
