Good. Hopefully that means this will be the sequel to Genisys. It really was a good movie. I want to see where they go after how it ended.

It's pretty good. I was surprised at how well it's done and how surprised I was at how much I liked it. I have absolutely no nostalgia for this franchise, and am not clouded by anything but curiosity.
For comparison of my tastes, I found star was tfa to be uttery filled with plot holes and inconsistencies. I hated the hateful 8. Just a void of real narrative. Nothing happens in the movie. Anyone can make this movie with a decent t budget.
See this is typical cloudy judgements. Everyone has their opinion though.
This is just stuck on the past nostalgia here.

You gonna actually argue that T2 is the pinnacle of Schwarzenegger's achievements next to the fact he GOVERNED an entire state? Even so, He's better in Predator than he is in T2, and Predator features probably his best performance as an action star.
In my experience, I've found it's a specific sort of nostalgia that contributes somewhat to the argument that Terminator 2 is the best action film of all time. It's not necessarily nostalgia to argue otherwise. Certainly isn't in my case.
And again: this isn't happening. Schwarzenegger's just talking shit. Nobody's going to put any money into this, especially not with his old ass in it. Genisys killed the brand. It will need a lot of time off.

Since T6 will probably be made by James Cameron I hope he does a alternate sequel like they did with Superman Returns. it could pick up after 2. Maybe they could get the original cast back. I'd like to see Eddie Furlong get another chance to get his life together. Linda Hamilton can come back too. I hope they could work Micheal Beign in somehow. I'm sure they could work something out. Even if it'd have to be CG he could do the voice.
T6 got cancelled
But he'd be the easiest Terminator to get away from. All you'd need to do is a brisk jog and you'd tire him out in a few minutes. He'd have to lay down for a nap, and you could make your escape.

Genisys was not that bad. The hyperbole around that movie is absurd. Sarah Conner was terrible and Jai was bland but Arnold was great and conceptually it was pretty interesting. It also had the best rendition of the theme. Salvation and Rise of the Machines were both far worse.
I'll be on board for 6 but I really don't believe it will happen until it happens.

T3 was better than Genysis. Genysis was the worst ret-conned BS with the most uninteresting actors I've ever seen.
Danarys as Sarah Conner was about the biggest bungle any casting director could have made. Then they cast Jai Courtney.
T3 was mediocre, but at least it tried.

With Cameron getting back the rights and Miller as a Director I will have faith one last time for this series.
I would like them either to continue the plot after the events of T2 while erasing all events from 3-5,
or to reboot from T1. The reboot would have to be extremly well made tho..

I think done correctly it can still work.
Having Arnie play a human who the T1000 is later based on would be the ideal option, maybe someone high up in Skynet or some shit.
Having him play another machine who for some reason ages would be going a bit OTT now.
