How many episodes in are you?
I'm almost finished with the first one. I'm trying to type up a report at the same time.

Question: Does this series have some closure? I know it was canned :(

But is it something like Day Break?

Everything gets wrapped up.

Alright, I'll give it a shot sometime soon.

I couldn't give a more hearty recommendation for any piece of TV. The only thing I'll say as a word of caution is that it's slow and you have to like characterization. If you're looking for action you're picking the wrong cop show and you're better off going the Shield route which is also a great show but like the action version of the wire.

You'll get most of the answers but there's still some threads hanging. I thought the finale (especially the final scene) was a really fitting series end, though.

BTW, It's only gonna get exponentially better now with every episode you watch. :D

Well I don't know if I would say that but there is enough closure to watch it and enjoy it. (and wish there was more sigh :( )
Well, I'd say everything from the series gets wrapped up. The new threads they leave hanging are mostly new plot lines that are developed in the same episode, so I wouldn't really call them important.

Sounds great, now I'll have something to make tomorrow's episode of LOST come by sooner. Thanks for recommending it btw.

sorry for derailing this thread. :(

I believe he was doing a US remake of "The Thick of It" but I read the pilot didn't get picked up. This sounds promising but it all depends on the writing and the cast. Ihope this does not get in the way of the AD movie.

It's the closest thing to a plotted novel you will find on television. It's about the furthest possible from a standard cop drama is all I can say. Watch 1 season of it and if you don't agree, I'll eat my kangol hat I constantly wear.

My Name is Earl was coming close to being a plotted novel-esque sitcom until the writers strike fucked everything up.

I'm an Aussie and I've never heard of that show. Turns out it only lasted 13 episodes. Strange he's taking the concept from that.

GAAAAAAAAY
Yeah, I'm still pissed about The Thick of It. That show had everything going for it, by its description.

Oh well, sacrifices must be made to encourage an AD film.

I've watched probably half of the entire series, and it's just... there. But people are like OH MAN HE IS DRIVING THAT TRUCK THING WITH THE STAIRS LOLS OH MAN BLUE MAN GROUP etc.

yawn guys, seriously. There's a reason why that shit got canned.

I don't do this often, but...

Your opinion is absolutely retarded.

Programming DVR as I type. So should I expect Fox to can this as well, only for it to start up again somewhere? Dammit why didn't Fox do Clerks?

June 25, 2008 - As we reported previously, the new Mitch Hurwitz (Arrested Development) FOX animated series Sit Down, Shut Up reached a production snag involving a dispute with their writers. The studio, Sony Pictures Television, insists that the series be under an IATSE contract while the writers insist the show be under the WGA contract. The writers walked off the job, ceasing work until the matter is resolved.

Variety is reporting that Sony has come back and issued an ultimatum to the writers: sign the deal with IATSE by Tuesday or end your affiliation with the show. Apparently the studio somehow sweetened the deal for the writers, but certainly fell short of changing the show's contract affiliation to the Writers Guild. While the series is being produced by Sony, it will air on FOX, and the rest of that network's animated series are WGA shows.

"I can't imagine they would really tank their own show over this and fail to deliver to Fox (and international buyers)," said one source to Variety, noting that Sony appeared to be playing "the hardest hardball." There is a bit of they said/we said about whether assurances were given that the show would be WGA or not. It's unclear whether Mitchell Hurwitz and his writers will stick with the show or not at this point. Given the fact that Hurwitz brought in voice cast from Arrested Development, including Will Arnett, Jason Bateman and Henry Winkler – there may be other elements of the series that are now in danger of going away - though no statements have been made by the cast regarding the situation.
oh fuck :(
