I had seen Arrested Development once and thought it was just OK, but with all the good buzz about it, I bought the DVD Season 1 today anyways.

So, I watched the first 5 episodes today, and I have decided this is the funniest show I've seen in a long time. Once you get into it and know all the characters, it just gets better. I haven't ever laughed so hard from a TV show.

This show is the next Seinfeld... buy the DVDs, you won't regret it!!!

Best show on television. For anyone who missed the first season, I highly recommend the DVD. I am going to get it myself just for the extras. Btw, I think there is already a AD dvd thread.

It's only 3 discs, but there is an extra feature on each disc, plus deleted scenes and commentary on 3 or 4 of the episodes. I haven't got into the commentaries yet, but I did watch the making of feature on disc one and it was pretty good. There's also an extended version of the Pilot episode.

Best new show on TV. If you want real comedy without those crappy laugh tracks this is the show to get.

I haven't opened mine yet but I picked it up today! :D My second favorite show next to Curb!

Ehh...I never watch TV so I have no idea what arrested development is. Can somebody enlighten me in 25 words or less? If not, I'll probably buy it on impulse anyways.

It's only $27 at Best Buy. It's well worth it for 22 episodes of great comedy. The show just gets better and better with each episode.

Just get it on impulse, you will be hooked by the third episode.

I hope this show gets some ratings this season. This show would probably do better if it wasn't on Fox, it seems all the best shows on Fox bomb and get prematurely canceled. :(

They mentioned "Marta 2" in one of the commentaries but they didn't say why she was recast(unless I blacked out). It might well have been a joke, but after the way they said it, it never crossed my mind.

one of the producers/writers/something goes "we should bring the marta character back with a third actress, like menudo." awkward silence "i guess i could have used a reference that wasn't hispanic there, huh"

Yeah but they could have just been screwed out of the lady who played marta originally, or hated her guts, and made a joke about it. I think if it was an intended joke they might have recast it twice :D I could be wrong of course

Yes but all that proves is that they recast the part and that they think that's funny in hindsight.

Hi,

yes, it was a sheduling conflict with Leonors movie "Voces inocentes" aka "casas de carton".
The project means a lot to her, its about the salvadoran civil war.

Patricia Velasquez is a good friend of her - and Leonor said, she really deserves the role.

Was watching some episodes from the dvd today and I realized that Arrested Development has the greatest cast overall of any show I have ever seen.
