The show does need the space. Its complicated characters, baroque storylines, and manic pacing all pack a great deal of information into a small window, and it took some time to fully hit its stride, though last year's DVD release of the entire first season made catching up easy.

The easiest part of it is keeping their voices consistent. The actors bring such unique twists to these characters, and we have such complex characters, that that's the fun of writing the show. You get to play in their voices. I wouldn't really think of that as a challenge—it's more the fun of it. "What would Gob say?"

Damn, I hope AD has many more seasons to go. It's the reason I started watching TV again. Fuck the reality shows!

And is it just me or did anyone else have troubles finding the Season 1 on DVD? I looked everywhere and eventually found a copy at BestBuy. The DVD is either a hot seller or a very bad one that stores don't want to keep stock of.

It's inevitable that it'll get cancelled. I kinda wish FOX would just get it over with and invest their time and money to something more consistent.

I fucking hate FOX. They get all these great shows, and they cancel so many of them. Look at what they've done with Family Guy. Cancelled it twice, and are only bringing it back agains thanks to the great work of the Adult Swim crew who didn't subject it to the time shuffle of doom the way FOX does. Apparently if the first episode doesn't smash records, the show is then shuffled around the schedule so its audience totally loses track of it, and then it's canned. And apparently barred from being put on any other station too. AD rocks. If you don't like that show, there's something wrong with YOU. I don't care what the ratings are. 24 didn't do all that well, but FOX has stuck with it now into its 4th season, and only moved it a few times for special events. Stopping AD now is a fucking joke IMO. Someone else had better pick it up too. It's one of the best things on tv...period. PEACE.

Anyways, Jason Bateman was on Conan last night and he didn't mention anything about the show being canceled so I think Cross just read something on the net and took it the wrong way.
