If this is a season's miss, I'll take it.
Good character work with some genuine moments and brief, but well staged action.
Who would have thought at the beginning of this season that Wild Dog would be the emotional core of the show?
I mean this might be the weakest episode of the season or at least in the bottom three (weak action, not much related to the main plot) but it was still fine. We know next week is going to be rough too, but the last three episodes are pure fire. It's insane how consistent this run has been. Maybe like 18.5/19? The Wild Dog stuff was fun, even if it was very clear they shot it all within like two hours on the one set. I think this and next week are budget saving episodes lol.

An episode like this I would've normally been bored by. This season of Arrow has done a crazy job of getting me invested in this story. Hell, I really liked the Oliver and Felicity scenes. Great moments between those two characters.

It legitimately bothers me more than it honestly should.
She said something at one point and my mind was instantly "im not watching this next season if she is still around"
Then im thinking "wait this season has been incredible and this is the first problem with her all season"
I guess I start flashing back to the atom suit and wheelchair walk and it triggers me.
I don't know. I liked the episode overall but I don't feel the writers did the necessary work needed to justify Felicity vs. Arrow team. Her motivations are clear (STOP CHASE) but I just don't understand why she's willing to alienate everyone else to get the job done. It's all very murky. That said, it was certainly exciting and the whole climatic action scene was a nailbiter (even if not excitingly directed).
Also loved the Chesthair/Dog subplot. Those two make a good pairing. On the other hand, Curtis feels like he should be on The Flash instead (or at least a less dour version of that show). His quips are forced.

I like the set up more truth be told .
Since we have seen what Helix can do and how far they willing to go .
Yeah there is no pay off but it's fun seeing the big bad set up for next season .
She has the same attitude since season 1.
Truth is this storyline make sense for her after what has happen in the last 4 seasons .

She wasn't written well this episode, and it bothered me more that maybe it should.

Felicity doing it against the wishes of one of her own allies and CLOSE FRIENDS is definitely crossing a line. Its the reason Diggle was pissed at Oliver in S3.
Oliver just tried to make a deal with the Bratva and it blew up in his face lol. He even admitted it was a moral fuck up. I think he understands where Felicity is coming from more than the rest, but she just saw how bad of an idea these kind of shenanigans are.
Diggle is right, as usual. Two extremes and neither are great.
Felicity is still grieving over Billy, which is why she's going to such extremes. I don't think the episode even name checked him, they're trying to be a bit more subtle about these things.

Yeah this was the weakest episode of the season. Chasing Chase took a very hard detour into this very loosely related sidequest which didn't do enough to convince us that Felicity has a valid viewpoint, which meant we'd always be on Oliver's side and Felicity would just come off as annoying again. Cayden was not established as a credible enough lead that could find Chase - he wasn't even given a face the whole episode. You could see the writers were keeping him faceless to try to give it thematic resonance with the "ends justifies the means" arguments (shown in the dialogue between Diggle and Lila), but it was at odds with the main storyline. We needed to know who Cayden was and why he was important in order to be on board with Felicity, and we never got that.
And then her getting into heels and makeup for a heist was just silly.

What Oliver has done is the reason why she did it .
Of course it blows up in her face but i guess Oliver was not the only person that need a lesson this season .
Felicity view point was clear and even Oliver knew why she was doing it .
Still just like when Oliver made the deal with the Bratva it did not work out .
As Zero said Dig stays winning.

Dig is the only one that learn after 4 seasons doing moral fuck up shit never works out really LOL.
I'm not convinced that her grief (which has barely been shown recently) is enough motivation to drive her on a course that puts her out on the field against Team Arrow.

They don't need to mention him for you to know that she still wants revenge\cared for him .
Timeline wise it's been about 3 to 5 months since that happen .
EDIT The current bad guy making your former fiancée kill your current BF would take a while to get over .
Still they should have done a better job storyline wise.

Pretty good one to me hoss. 19-19 for me hoss. I'm looking forward to next week's episode hoss.
Honestly if this episode is our "urghh FelicityXOliver drama moment" then I'll take it. It's nowhere near as bad as Season 3 or 4.
It was actually pretty good seeing how Felicity called out Oliver on his willingness to do anything and Oliver hesitant knowing that maybe "doing whatever it takes" haven't worked out well for him so far.
