Arrow S5 |OT| You thought you were out, but Manu Bennett pulls you back in.

I'd say everyone is pretty safe except for Merlyn and Boomerang. Maybe Talia and Evelyn bite the dust too, but if Black Siren is safe why wouldn't they be? It does sound like Merlyn is out for a while. Waiting on that post finale interview (which hasn't even come out for Flash?).

Slade is definitely planning something. There's no way they can't have him back for the S6 premiere is there? Manu's not shooting Shannara during the first half of the season, he's probably available. Assuming it isn't cancelled from it's new home on ummm... Spike?

This was a damn good season, especially when comparing it to 3. Did we gain anything in 3 that would even be worth watching or should it be banished to the hell where the very worst seasons of supernatural reside.

Slade was basically 100% redeemed, maybe it was a little bit hasty but fuck it, it's worth it. He was already essentially a mercenary beforehand, he doesn't need to be a goody two shoes in the future, but now he can basically just be a special guest starring swag machine.

hmmmmm, better than anything in tonight's episode tbh

I can't believe the show that clumsily dealt with a fucking nuke last season managed to miraculously bounce back this season.

It goes without saying, but 23 outta 23 lol

Oh so this episode must've gone out early to critics (unlike Flash lol), because the reviews, well...

EW: A
IGN: 10/10
AV Club: A

And TVLine's poll is overwhelming A.

Huh? I think the nuke was one of the better handled plots from S4. And had last ramifications into S5.

A first for Arrow.

Huh? This was a throwback to S1.

Great way to end it, its only disappointing because you know that pretty much all of Team Arrow survived somehow, although I'm severely doubting Merlyn, Boomerang, and Evelyn made it through but you never know.

I really wish they had not confirmed who was returning next year, could have been a hell of a cliffhanger otherwise.

I wonder if they continue flashbacks next season if it'll involve what happened to everyone after the island blew up. Also Oliver the father should be interesting, trying to balance being the mayor, green arrow, and a dad.

Only bad thing this episode was setting up Oliver and Felicity. If any of the main cast dies I really hope its her (and that its not a fake out)

They did flashbacks to season 1 this season. In that case it was to events we didn't see. So they can always do that even flash back to the "island" days if they want. There really is nothing stopping them.

"Just so you know, I wasn't in favour of sending William away, not that I was consulted..."

Fuck off, Felicity, now is not the time.

Hedad to roll my eyes at that one. She still doesn't understand her opinion didn't matter when it came to that. The only people who's opinion on that that matteer was Ollie and Samantha since William is their kid.

The nuke was handled the same way an all out alien invasion was handled. In the way it was mentioned a bit then brushed under the rug. While it gave Felicity and Ragman something to do there's no way the rest of the country would go back to business as usual after a nuke took out a city. It was just way beyond what this show should be dealing with and fell right in line with them trying to deal with a magic cult attempting to end the world. Another thing that Green Arrow should not be dealing with.

This show is at its absolute best when things are smaller and more intimate. I'm glad they didn't fall into a trap of trying to one up the nuke this season.

Okay okay there's one thing the season didn't solve:

Who the Fuck was Vigilante?
That's a really good point. I remember being pissed wen they said we wouldn't find out who Vigilante was this season. And now at the end of the season and I haven't thought of him in forever.

Early guess? Slade's son is Vigilante. Someone that thinks Arrow is too weak while hating Oliver.

There was no cliffhanger to season 1. We knew Tommy was dead.

We know the team is alive. It's not really a cliffhanger. S1 ended with the destruction of the glades, S5 ends with the destruction of the island.

Going by Legends timeline, he's not old enough.

e: actually that was Grant. But Joe is still not old enough, he's only 15 or so.

Time to play our favorite game! Who dead and who still alive for 1 more round?

No doubt the big 3 are safe. Black Siren, Black Canary and Wilddog are upgraded to regulars next year, so their at least kicking.

Thea, Curtis, baby momma and chesthair big question.

I think in a past interview they said they never kill Thea. I think. Chesthair would need to stick around for interactions with his daughter's evil twin I'm sure.

Oh course, likely they all made it out alive too.

I think they're saving both of Slade's kids for Titans. The older one will get killed off and Slade will be out for blood again.

Before the Island Slade had a son. I think Wintergreen (the other Deathstroke) was The Godfather. Let's say the kid was 8 then. Oliver was on the island 5 years. 8 + 5 = 13. Now it's been 5 years since Oliver left the island. That kid would be 18 now.

Edit: Nvm. Your referring to Joe. I didn't realize they gave him a age.

I hope we get to see Ragman again next season. He's so OP that it makes sense they can't have him around all the time, but him occasionally showing up to be badass would be great.
