Now that I had time to digest.

Probably one of the best season finales I've seen. So good, so fucking good.

Some bullet points.

- I'm still not a fan of Manu Bennett, but it was cool to see Deathstroke again

- That Canary Vs Canary was hot, Queen Laurel is amazing.

- Please don't have Merlyn go out like that

- The Nyssa and Talia fight was a bit disappointing

- Nice Man of Steel moment with Oliver having Adrian in a chokehold

- Locking Evelyn up in a cage was cold as fuck, I hope she makes it, redemption arc please.

- Adrian Chase is the best villain the show has ever had, so bummed that he died.

- Finally coming full circle with the flashbacks and bearded Oliver. Yay.

- Sweet scene between Oliver and Moira

- YO, that ending tho. Michael Bay would be proud.

Can't believe this season, absolutely flawless work, can't wait for season 6. I do hope they can deliver another amazing season.

So why did Oliver not just break Adrian's knee?

He can't do ninja vanish without ligaments in his knee.

Also, I am glad I don't have to hear evil Adrian's voice. What an annoying acting choice.

Kinda funny that the worst villain Arrow picks turned out the best by far.
They worked hard to legitimatize the dude.

So much so i'd be fine if the comics phased this Prometheus in and shifted him to Oliver's A-list.

They shared a name. That was about it. They were clear from the start they weren't doing the comic book Prometheus (or Vigilante, as it turns out).

Plus Chase's origin story is directly linked to the show's origins. They'd need something similar to replicate that in the comics.

Thats what I mean, Ra's and Deathstroke for example are really flashy picks. Even picking just the Prometheus name or Chase is "eh, who cares"
But they created a villain i'd even put over CW Reverse Flash(Sorry Zero).

They could figure a way to work it into the comics imo, preferably in the good guy disguise a decent bit first.

If all DLC came tied to $13 figurines, I'd consider all DLC to be free
Chase was really good overall...it didnt really matter what Ollie did - he set the game so that he would win in some way or the other. Sure most of the guys will have survived....but who knows at what cost.

I enjoyed the finale for what was a very good season. Certainly the best of the Arrowverse shows. They apparently exhausted their fight choreography budget this episode and I thought all of the encounters were well done. It was good to see Oliver's baby mama. I wish she'd get more gigs as I really liked her on Defiance as Berlin, which was an underrated show. Anyway, good job writers for righting the ship. Now help your co-workers fix Flash and Supergirl.

Oh no Malcolm "died" writers need a drama segment
The flashback rescue scene was hilarious. Fake hair and beard just to circle it back.
The result of writing as they go 🤣

Good only Slade and Lance live
RIP Felicity and Team Arrow

Supersonic, idiotic, disconnecting, not respecting, who would really ever wanna go and top that
I know the team is already stacked. But I'd be so in for Nyssa joining Team Arrow for half a season or so. The show can't be done with Talia yet. Maybe sideline Curtis and have him run comms with Felicity, and then put Nyssa in the field?

Such a great season. They could have used some more time fleshing out Evelyn's character, though. I never really understood why she was willing to go along with Chase's crazy schemes.

when it comes to the emotional responses of many of these characters its best to overlook stuff and just ride the wave.

AND she did bring it up, in the very same episode a few minutes later.

I'm really talking about the show as a whole in the seasons that followed (those events). There's this nonsense about him being a loving father when really he's a complete fucking psychopath. Thea, shed no tears for that mass-murderer! The fact that Oliver gave him control over the league was mental.

I preferred it when he was consistently in it for himself.

He's both. The show was pretty clear there. Malcolm even acknowledged it. He's a very bad person who also loves his daughter. The two can co exist.

I don't even know why you're going after this particular thread. Nobody on the team has liked Merlyn, basically ever, and Thea has resented him ever since the Sara incident and hasn't wavered from that. Merlyn has generally been in it for himself and Thea and that's about it.

That conversation Thea had about him being an abusive jerkarse but her having strong feelings for him anyway was pretty realistic I thought.

I really hope there's some serious consequences to that last scene. I'll be pissed if they pull out a Flash and everybody makes it out alive magically, except for one person.

Any idea where this episode was filmed? I'll be in Vancouver next month, so I want to say I visited Lian Yu.

hey guys

remember when chase said

I'll see you on the boat

TEN

STEPS

AHEAD

On a serious note, I remember that line and that's why I think
Evelyn (at the very least) is still alive. Remember, her being captured was apart of the plan. Either there was no C4s at that site or she cut herself free after Team Arrow left.

except chasing doesn't seem against
killing his allies if the plan calls for it

Chase also knew Ollie isn't going to kill, especially Evelyn. He knew she was going to live and he needed her to live for something.

If it was supposed to be apart of the plan to capture her, then why kill her in the C4 blast? You might as well put her to better use than an unused Chekhov's gun.

I bet Felicity and Curtis managed to disarm the C4 that was in their vicinity. And I hate the fact that Chase was like 20 steps ahead of Ollie all season long. It's too much. Hate how The CW always has the heroes be such jobbers.

Is this were Merlyn gets recruited by Reverse Flash?

Why we spoiler tagging speculation?

Goddamn this season, I held off until all the positive reactions from the first half of the season and then caught up during the winter break and what a turn around. I think there's a strong argument for season five being the best season of Arrow. I might not have reached the highs of season one or especially two but it also didn't reach its lows which at least for season two took a hit with Slade's terrible motivation.

I need more Talia and Nyssa, does Talia know Sara was that woman who showed up and was training her? Wait, Sara was training Talia right?

Hi ArrowGAF, it's been like 2 years since I've been in here but that finale was too lit.

Could Slade have taken them to the prison? I mean, it's supposed to be legit protected.

Great finale to a very strong season.
However, I have a distinct feeling not a single character is gonna die from that island blowing up. All of Team Arrow, Slade, Nyssa, Siren, Talia, Artemis, Boomerang are all gonna be back. Malcolm died on-screen in Season 1 and didn't stay dead, he's not gonna die off-screen.

Sorry random ninjas, you're all dead. But while it was a great cliffhanger I don't think there will really be super consequences from it. I hope they have a great idea for season 6 planned out, this season will be hard to follow.

Did they use a new kid for Oliver's son or did the kid just happen have a growth spurt, I'm not an expert but he looked way older than eight or nine.

Yeah, looks like the same kid. I most likely imagine he will likely show up more in season 6. Obviously more so if his mother dies. I hope she doesn't die, as a moody/sad kid not a good idea.

It's amazing what a long plot line his kid has been for the series so far. Started out as a flashback in S2 of her being pregnant. A brief cameo in Flash S1 crossover event to confirm she has his kid. Then a better introduction in S2 of Flash crossover again where they meet and more so in S4 of Arrow.

Someone remind me, did we ever find out who the Vigilante is? So much has happened in this season it's hard for me to recall.

Kinda feel like rewatching Arrow over the summer. Haven't reaaally watched it since Season 2, thought Manu did a pretty great job as Slade...presence and swagger to spare.

Then 3 was...interesting until like halfway through, 4......no idea, and 5 is apparently an upturn and a good ending with a good villain? Sounds appealing.

I really thought Chase was revealing at the end that he was pulling a Zoom and was screwing with Oliver just so he'd be a better father to his son and he wouldn't have the same daddy problems that either of them did. Alas that didn't happen, but I still really enjoyed the finale, and this season as a whole. It feels nice to be able to recommend Arrow again.

That would indeed be an ideal place to send them.

I want Chase to have really lost, which can only be achieved by everyone surviving. And I would hate it Superior Boomerang could never return.

So an ARGUS detention facility housing Deathstroke and Capt. Boomerang only has 1 security guard? Really?

A hidden facility on a remote killer island. But we already knew it badly guarded.

Serious Sam is a wicked gahbidge series for chowdaheads.
I'm guessing next season opens with most everyone safe in the prison facility but Deathstroke already gone.

I am kinda assuming Slade probably safe, as likely this would have been on him (the actor) terms for being back, to not get a cheap death/treated badly. Of course, he could of wanted for him to go out a hero (which would be a good send off too)

Caught the last episode last night although I stopped watching Arrow beginning of S4.

Wow this series stepped it up. Maybe I should come back to Arrow after 2 extremely disappointing seasons of the Flash.
