If Tommy had to die to let Laurel save those files it's scary to think how much damage her saving a cat would make. Sorry, but that just won't happen. The showrunners clearly said we won't see city destroyed again this season.

Yeah, that's part of what makes them compelling... although it could backfire. Like the "Oh by the way, there's a cure for Mirakuru..." plot point that drops near the end.

I'm new to this thread, having just watched season 1 and 2 over the past week and a bit (loved it btw). I'm sure it's been talked about to death here but I was curious what the consensus was on this series not linking into the DCCU. I know they are probably starting a separate TV cannon but it seems completely ridiculous decision to me

the DC universe has a long and proud tradition of having multiple universes. Marvel only really has the main line called 616(it has others but only the Ultimate universe is their most popular) so it's perfectly reasonable that DC TV/Movies would follow the same idea.
