As I said, the "avoid discussion" thing is obviously false because this causes far more. They don't care about discussion. Only a tiny % of AAA game buyers discuss this stuff on forums, and of those many will buy their shit anyway, regardless of news like this.

Occam's razor leads us to MS literally paying them money to technically gut the PS4 version, to make the PS4 version artificially worse for PS4 users. There is no other motive or reason I can think of.

I'm glad the only Ubisoft games I give a shit about are Rainbow Six and Rayman. Even though Rayman may never come back. ZombiU was really good but we all know how that turned out. I bought AC3 on Wii U to support 3rd parties and Black Flag on PS4 because the sailing was really fun. And the 1080P water was hrrrnnngggg. Looks like Ubisoft doesn't want my money.

I mean WTF is Microsoft gonna do about it. Make a company policy that says if a game is superior on another console they can't put it on Xbone? Could they even do that?

it's the less interesting cousin of the GPU debate, as despite being far more limiting in terms of game design, it's a bucket of swill that both parties have to eat from.

I think this is the actual reason why, not anything to do with moneyhats or a clause from MS. Better versions of games are being lopsided with sales. Companies want to sell through to the install base for each platform, not the platform that has the best version. There are people on the other side of the fence that won't buy it because it is not the best version and they only have one console, it's possible they want to avoid that, as above.

Some don't want to hear it, but there is some truth to that.

Another nail in their coffin for me. After Watch Dogs ending, how they handle Assassin's Creed series, and a few other things I am done with Ubisoft.
