Jesus, those screens look absolutely terrible. If it really ends up looking like that I'll sell my Notre Dame edition for profit..

It's official - everyone in this thread is f*cking CRAY CRAY.

All the gameplay videos I've seen look great so far, especially the hair. Most of these shots look compressed to hell. I'm going to wait on proper video coming out before I make my mind up.

Yes, Ubisoft downgrades, but they also release good looking games generally.

Was the videos from PS4 or PC? Or didn't say so it makes out the game will look amazing on everything?

Doubtful.

These seem to be released by someone who is craving to destroy Ubisoft even more.

Bad publicity has been running down on them with this project for months with the whole no female protagonist and parity issues. This is just another simple icing on the cake.

If I am wrong Ubisoft are destroying themselves. Which will be laughable at best.

I mean, this could be the biggest downgrade ever

And they deserve every fucking bit of it. Heck they really deserve a lot worse but in the end they will still sell a few million copies.

At this point anyone that still holds out hope that The division will match its reveal needs to pack it up. Ubisoft seems to have gone all in in bullshitting its consumers.

Just happy there are millions of people who don't give a crap about this and it's only a small percentage of people on obscure forums who are so uptight about this.

It's delicious to read some those comments.

The salt of this comment because people actually care about what their game looks like and what they will be paying for. The absolute irony.

It's the AA they are using, it blurs the image and then sharpens it to artificially induce high frequency details. But in effect what you get in the end is an image that has lost most of its detail.

Keep in mind this is an overblown image and when it gets applied to an entire screen in the game the effect is more pronounced and blurry.

Any sane person would ditch the AA and just bump to 1080p like Black flag.

I don't mind the odd jaggie if its 1080 and the image is crisp.

Reminds me of the Quinnux thing some devs used on Ps3. A travesty.

This will be the first Creed game we skip for quite a few years. Not going to support such stupid decisions.

This is with the Xbone's terrible sharpen filter applied though, it was taken out a while ago and games don't look like that anymore. If someone could post a new screenshot with the fixed upscaler then that would be a proper comparison.

Oh yeah, here's a screen with the new scaler:

It would but increasing the resolution is a lot more expensive than AA

Ok but what I don't understand is why they went with this blurry type of AA in the first place when they know already that they are going 900p which is less sharp than 1080p. So as one poster said it's a combination of it being 900p + the blurry AA they used we got the final blurry screenshots. Maybe they can fix it with a patch like AC4 on PS4?

Honestly, if those screens represent what the game actually looks like, Black Flag on my PS4 looks better. Unity may have that NPC count + draw distance, building detail, cloth physics etc but I simply cannot state how much having a clean, crisp image helps a game's appearance.

Obviously I haven't read the entire thread but just looking at those screenshots I can't help but think this looks noticeably worse than AC4 on PS4. Just fucking ugly, smeared shit. At least they've figured out one way to keep me from purchasing the game on PS4, make it an ugly fucking mess. I guess that's a win for Microsoft. I think I'll skip this one Ubi.

Yeah! For fuck's sake, why is everyone bitching?! It's an Assassin's Creed game! Graphics don't matter! Gameplay doesn't matter! Sound design doesn't matter! STORY DOESN'T MATTER!!! NOTHING FUCKING MATTERS BUT THE NAME.

Ubisoft is to blame because of their bullshots or PC videos, but some people need to wake up already and stop being so delusional and realize the PS4 is not even close to being a high-end PC, let alone the Xbox One. If you expect CGI graphics ON TOP of 1080/60fps then you're only setting yourself up for extreme dissapointment. Don't expect more than Second Son or your dissapointments from obvious PC builds "downgrades" will ensue. Always assume the game's running on PC until you see direct feed from console and understand already that it's either CGI fidelity - 30fps - below 1080 or slighty better last gen fidelity - 1080 - 60.

Wow, those screens are nowhere close to the "gameplay videos" from the beginning. Huge downgrade.

And that cheap post process vaseline filter... those cheap solutions do more harm than good imo.

What do you think of FFXV after yesterday? Think that was PS4 footage?

Those screenshots look pretty bad, but there must be something wrong with them, i remember when watch dogs was coming out and there were awful screenshots of the Ps4 version, but in the end the released game was pretty good.
By the way, i'm gonna pick this up on PC like i do with all the multiplatform, i do believe it will be stunning on my rig, and i guess consoles versions will be nice too.

Think people forgot what imgur does to screenshots. 900p doesn't look THIS blurry.

You ignored my other response to you didn't you? Maybe go read that instead of arguing straw men.

Even the nvidia trailer doesn't match what Ubisoft initially revealed it the E3 "gameplay" demo.

Quit carrying water for a corporation that has a storied history of deceiving their customers.

Because I've watched shitty Youtube gameplay videos and it still looks impressive.

Seriously stop saying AC4 looks better than this because it's simply not true. It might have better IQ on the PS4 but assets and lighting in Unity look almost CGI to me and absolutely gen-leap, whereas AC4 PS4 looks like an upres PS3 game, which is exactly what it is. Were you expecting all of the NPC to have insane face detail? 4K resolution and 60fps in a Playstation 4? What the hell do you think a PS4 is? I'm actually quite surprised of how incredibly good this game looks in the console.

And I don't like Ubi nor have an interest in playing this game.
Whut? If AC4 looks like an upres PS3 game, ACU looks like an upres PS2 game.

The vaseline AA makes everything look cartoony and the lighting looks terrible.
Look at this screen again please.

Do you really think this is CGI-level lightning?
It's no better than Dark souls 1 Anor Londo which runs on a PS3.
The lack of shadow makes the hair on the heads of the ingame characters looks like everyone is wearing wigs.

Second son looks much, much, much better. So does AC4 so it's obviously not the hardware that's at fault.

I admit these shots look blurry as hell, but I don't trust screen shots when they look good, and I don't trust them when they look bad. I'll judge this game's visuals when I see a good representation of them in motion.
