Jesus Christ, the hate is too much. Everything Black Flag did right has been completely forgotten by some Gaffers here. I'm so sad. :(

Just remembered something. Wasn't TLoU suffering from the same issue? The original, I mean. The game was gorgeous but more so in motion. That game didn't look as good in screenshots cause of some sort of motion blur that occurred whenever you moved the character a little, making it seem blurrier than it really was. I think there was a thread here about it, but I'm might be mistaken. I remember people commenting on that.

I'm still trying to wrap my head around this one. One or two bad screenshots can happen in almost every game, but that godawful bluryness is in every single one of them. Maybe this game looks better in motion, it's just that we can't see it through youtube compression. I'm just trying to understand (or maybe find excuses) on why this looks the way it looks. The only other option is that Ubi was once again lying and taking us for idiots, which I can't for the life of me believe. They never lied/downgraded before, have they?

I'm not sure whether to go for

Assassin's Creed: Unity [OT] - Thanks, xbox...

or

Assassin's Creed: Unity [OT] - Viva La Parité!

Maybe

Assassin's Creed: Unity [OT] - Brought you by the makers of Vaseline

Someone in another thread suggested:

Assassin's Creed: Unity [OT] - One Night in Parité

In its current state, Assassin's Creed: Unity is a buggy, frustrating, barely playable mess of a game, and unless some very serious tweaking and polishing happens between now and the game's North American release date of November 11, this title is going to be about as well received as a shit in a birthday cake." I thought it was going to be either Assassin's Creed: Unity [OT] - Viva La Resolution! or Assassin's Creed: Unity [OT] - Res Miserables

I can't believe I fell for it again, I got really excited after Unity's E3 showing and once again, there's a downgrade. Unless FC4 turns out to be a major improvement over FC3, I'm pretty much done with Ubisoft for the time being, which is sad because Black Flag is still my favorite PS4 game that isn't a remaster/port.

I got it.

Assassin's Creed Unity |OT| - The French Resolution.

Uh, looking strictly at visuals - Second Son is miles ahead of the image quality presented here. No question.

I don't agree but apparently it's not the common opinion. I always try to look beyond the resolution, and while it's hard to do with these screenshots, I still think the lightning and the textures/models/physics and just graphics in general in this game (judging by the Xbox One direct feed) are unparalleled in console.

Wasn't the Ubisoft guy/girl who wrote in to Giant Bomb claiming that this game looks better than Second Son?

He was talking about the lighting system.

I believe 50% of the CPU is dedicated to helping the rendering by processing pre-packaged information, and in our case, much like Unreal 4, baked global illumination lighting. The result is amazing graphically, the depth of field and lighting effects are beyond anything you've seen on the market, and even may surpass Infamous and others. Because of this I think the build is a full 50gigs, filling the bluray to the edge, and nearly half of that is lighting data.

You can look at parts of any screenshot and find issues...the guy in the corner looks like shadows are obstructing his face and hbao is blurring out some details (just like distance and focus does in real life)

Looking at the entire screenshot it looks excellent
I'm sorry, but are we just gonna glance over whatever the fuck this woman is doing?

I'm sorry but my knee jerk reaction after viewing these screens is, this game looks like puke. Everything looks blurry and the fine details that were clearly visible in AC4 are gone.

the thing AC BF did right was change up the gameplay a ton with the sailing dynamic. This just returns to the pure city stuff where you are fighting idiot guards and doing the same' ol same ol'. Said it a hundred times, as soon as you stepped off the ship in Black Flag it was the same ol' assassins creed.

Ubisoft needs to take that black flag sailing engine / gameplay and apply it toward a full game.

Link?

1st, People saying don't expect much because these systems aren't Power PC's need to reflect on the fact that these are still the first tier of games for these consoles!! It'll only get better NOT worse.

2nd, I've seen this game not that long ago (on Xbox One), the game looks a LOT better than these pics. Unless something went horribly wrong this past month, I wouldn't worry!! I for one can't wait to get my hands on it... Until then, back to Sunset Overdrive

We have AC Rogue!*

Their GI engine seems to produce bland colors with no contrast. It looks less like bounced lighting and more like someone went into the Photoshop levels section and turned up all the shadows. The lack of AF, blurry Post AA, and upscaling from a lower resolution just compound the problem. They can crow all they want about having thousands of NPCs, but they still look like the dead eyed automatons of previous games so I don't think they even add anything visually or in terms of atmosphere.

Durante-Kun the bigger issue is just how awful previous Ubisoft ports have been to the PC platform. Do you remember this infamous line of code from Watch Dogs?

Don't post that without giving proper context. It's been established for months what the context is when it was originally posted.

Maybe they should have just pushed Rogue to include PS4, xbone, and PC versions (now instead of in 4 months) and held off on ACU for a bit. We'll see, hopefully it works out alright.

So disappointed in this game. Had potential too.

Oh well, money better spent elsewhere.

I'm not a fan of AC games but I'd say if you're buying this for the AC experience then why would you back out now? If you were buying it for graphics I understand then.

y'all should be ashamed
Man, MS really drew the short end of the stick with exclusive marketing this year eh? First COD that's downtrending significantly and now Assassins, which seems to have it's own share of controversy.

I can appreciate the tech behind this game but man, it is just not pleasant to look at in stills.

God whoever leaked these, thank you so much.
You just saved me a lot of money. I originally wanted the collectors and season pass. Any second thoughts I had are gone. Blurry fucking mess. Announce a 1080p patch and we'll talk.

Hah. Whoever put in that comment deserves a medal of sorts.

I've played AC2, ACB and AC4 and I would say the gameplay is terrible in all three. If you don't believe me I can add you on PSN, I did almost everything in the games besides the garbagio multiplayer.

Considering the gameplay has been bad in all the games leading up to this one, I doubt it's gonna change this time around.

Why did you keep buying and playing these games to completion if you thought they were terrible?

1.) the nvidia reveal trailer doesn't even seem to match the e3 demo.

2.) you are not addressing the admitted fact that Ubisoft is holding back the ps4 intentionally to reach parity. Even if the best the ps4 can do won't match e3, it can do better then it currently is.

Ehhh. Personally I still don't think Ubisoft held back the PS4 version of the game. Excluding the new GI stuff. It seems to have a similar look to Watchdogs on PS4.

Wow what the fuck, so much for it being built for next gen. Make's it even easier to aviod it after the parity comment's.

My biggest issue is this game reminds me of one of the things I hated most about last gen, the vaseline filter. I don't care what anyone says about lighting and cloth physics this looks almost last gen to me.

For those people saying "I don't care because I'll be playing on PC":

Do you really have faith in the UbiPort for this game? I'm expecting it to be a complete mess, especially given the ridiculous spec requirements they released.

Seems like the only good thing about this game is Lorde song in the reveal trailer.

Ya ya ya? Seriously though this game looks very underwhelming considering how they trumpeted the graphical quality. My friend at Ubi did say before that AI and physics would be a big focus for them moving forward but all I'm seeing so far is increased density of the NPC's.

Judgement reserved until I see more but I did expect more. Right now I'm feeling that we're looking at amother WD fiasco where we're hugely oversold on fidelity that just isn't there.

Other than the stuttering issues on Watch_Dogs (which weirdly didn't affect me much at all until the first patch, by which point I had completed it), Ubisoft PC games have still offered a significantly better experience than the console versions for me.

AC4 Black Flag looked and ran well on my system.

That was so funny. I just played through Ryse on reasonably high settings, but apparently my GPU doesn't meet the minimum requirement (it's a 670)

They flat-out told us they held it back. The exact quote was that they "locked it to avoid debates". That's not a slip of the tongue or bad wording, regardless of the BS they will try to feed you afterwords.

I remember Far Cry 3 having excellent performance and visuals on the PC. All Ubisoft games are not suddenly Watch Dogs.
