That's amazing news. My kids loved Playroom and would definitely want the new game. Hell, I might even pony up $70 at release for it.

No microtransactions and I enjoyed the demo thing. The grandkids are going to love this. I haven't bought a game since Eldin Ring, I'm stoked!

Looks awesome. These are the type of Sony games we all grew up with and loved. Like a breath of fresh air to see this instead of some woke trash or GAAS rubbish. Looks like Astro is this gens Knack for Playstation imo.

it's ironic how the remnants of Japan Studio have single-handedly rescued this State of Play from being complete and utter garbage. Imagine what could've been if Sony had invested in Japan Studio instead of shutting them down.

They did invest in Japan

Asobi would not have been able to make this game without them being given all the other resources from those studio closures

Sony cut the non performing teams and boosted the best one

They made the right choice

Look at the other Japan Studio teams and their output. Team Ico spent 10 years making The Last Guardian and Gravity Rush unfortunately never found an audience.

Why wouldn't they? Because it's a platformer? Nintendo is charging top prices for their first party games that, by looking at them, cost a fraction in production of Astro Bot.

Yeah this is easily worth $70

Stand by the product you made. A 20+ hour platformer should not be held to a lesser standard than a 20+ hour RE game

I'd be a happy bunny if we got a PSVR2 version later ala Capcom and recent Resident Evil games. The politician answer avoids revealing a PSVR2 version... I admit it also avoids having to say no to PSVR2. Thinking positive here.

I honestly think that this will be the case. I have a hunch that something like a VR mode will be shadow dropped at the next showcase.

i got that GOTY itch for this, unless xbox/Nintendo announces and releases a banger we don't know of.

Super excited for this

Apparently there will be 150+ Playstation cameos in the game! There'll be so many cool Easter eggs to find.

It was great seeing Parappa the rapper again. I actually think he'd make a strong enough character for his own musical kind of platformer (similar to Hi-Fi Rush), where you need to out-rap the bosses at the end of each level. Why has this not been done? Maybe Sony should enlist some of those Tango devs.

Good. Playroom was so awesome that I was sad it wasn't a full retail release.

I remember starting it for kicks because I was planning to buy Demon's Souls. And then a week later I was still playing it and refrained from buying DS for a while.

And then they gave studios hundreds of millions in the west to make GAAS trash while they continue to hyper focus on eastern games for censorship.

One smart decision doesn't change the hundreds of retarded ones by Sony.

Even if this does look worthy of $70, I still think Helldivers 2 taught Sony a lesson or two about more sensible pricing. So, it'll be $50, IMO.
inb4 Returnal and Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, those were from a time when Sony REALLY wanted to sell you next-gen only games at full price. Not indicative of anything these days.
