If it was a Nintendo IP, like Mario or Kirby, I would agree. No new IP on Nintendo is selling 10mil, let alone 20mil. For Nintendo, it's all about their IP. Whether the games are great or not is secondary

Come on people patience! These numbers are objectively really good. Not every game is a massive hit out the gate.

Even if we low ball and assume only 3 million are actual sales that's still excellent and better than games that have gone on to sell 7 to 15 millions over time

A couple of examples

Persona 5 took a year and 2 months to get to 2 million units has since sold over 7 millions

Frigging Dark souls took a year and a half to get to 2 million. It's likely at 10 to 12 million units now.

The budget or amount of people that worked on the game has absolutely nothing to do with how many people I think should play a great game.

I know. My point is, the budget for this game is low. So no need to worry that it won't be supported by the Publisher going forward.

The game will never grow old. Like Mario, it is evergreen. It will always be new to new PS5 purchasers and thus is Nintendo's secret revealed. It will also be a classic. There are two or three levels that are all time platforming levels. The monkey level is one of those(I never played that game but it is ape escape or something and the level is insane). What an accomplishment.

Quality is remembered long after the price is forgotten.

P.S if someone does an even slower time that hasn't got a trophy yet we will get an even better idea of the total players.

I would suggest taking about 15 to 20 minutes as there were still a number of players that were even slower than me.
