Cool, looks like the 2nd volume has a lot more of the games I liked from Atari... and some I'm not familiar with (Return to Haunted House and Combat 2: old prototypes or recently made games?)

This collection seems pretty packed. I'd be down with more than a few of those. Maybe I'll pick it up with my 3DS :)

The first Atari pack was really well done, though not without faults. The touchscreen controls for paddle/trackball controls were great! The 2600 collection was pretty bad. For $20, it's a great buy for anybody who likes stylish games.

If I'd known that this studio was headed by Jeff Vavasour I'd have bought the first game in a more timely manner. I'll be picking up volume 2 on day 1.

I would love the 5200/800 version of Pitfall 2, which had the second world behind the blue door. Hear my plea.

BTW, I got the Activision compilation for GBA and was severely disappointed that HERO was running at half speed, WTF?

Definitely going to pick up both Atari collections.

I'm interested in the Intellivision collection too, but I haven't heard the greatest things about it. (Sound effects missing, control problems, graphics missing.) Can anyone you picked up the Intellivision collection confirm or deny these claims? It's hard to find info on the game since it was released in such limited supply.

I have an INTV, but disliked the controllers enough that I rarely used it. I would definitely agree that there are control problems, but they're pretty much in the games' designs, as far as I can tell.

The only serious deficit of the DS version is that two of your items in the first-person D&D game can't be seen. It's not crippling, though. I thought the D&D games were amazing, which, unfortunately, I can't say about most of the rest of the compilation.

On the other hand, it's $15.

Thanks for info.

I heard that a whole bunch of sound effects are missing too. Maybe I'll get it if I can find it for super cheap.

Hey, Atari's Greatest Hits volume 2 is out! Just ordered it. They very sensibly knocked down the MSRP to $20 (Volume 1 is $20 now too.)

The arcade games are a powerful draw: Black Widow, Millipede, Red Baron, Warlords (4 player!). The selection is as good as the first, and from early reports the touch screen does an excellent job replacing the driving/paddle controllers.

Unlike the first one, whose 2600 selection seemed intent on proving that Activision made all the good 2600 games, the second one has a 2600 selection that stands up to its arcade games. Yar's Revenge! Secret Quest! Space War! Demons to Diamonds! Basic Programming!

Not many extras here - just another Nolan Bushnell interview. I really liked the quiz game in the last one, and I'm sorry they ditched it here.

Here's the game list:

I thought I read somewhere that the second Atari collection had an Atari 800/XL/XE emulated for one of the games... is that true?

I've been pondering all three of these collections, but by DS Lite is currently acting up and my 3DS isn't yet mine.

The lack of IP (TRON, He-Man etc) and Imagic (Demon Attack, Atlantis, Nova Blast etc) titles on the Intellivision Lives set makes it useless to me.

Actually, I take that back...It may be worth it for Treasures of Tarmin alone. The first first person, 3D RPG console title and a game I put hours upon hours into. Fantastic stuff.

ProTip: The Intellivision was the first 16 Bit console.
