Atelier Yumia Demo Dropping March 17th for Switch, Xbox, PlayStation, and Steam (Progress Carries Over to the Full Game) [Demo Up on all Platforms]

do not tempt fate do not contrain Wonder Woman's thighs do not do not
Ive got a real vendetta against Yumias skirt.
I need help.

I was looking back at:
  • Sophie
  • Firis
  • Resna
  • Suelle
  • Lydie
  • Ayesha
  • Meru in Lulua

For the actions that Yumia does in game, all those outfits seem more fitting.
Maybe its because it reminds me of a business pencil skirt and I hated my time in the corporate world.

Otherwise as with all Atelier games......day zero easy work.
Probably the most calming and low key favorite games whenever they come out.
Almost always just straight fun through and through.

We could all use a little extra Yumia in our lives.

They haven't dubbed any of the games tho, honestly it's for the better.
Older games got dubs (though apparently not all dialogue). I distinctly remember Sophie calling her place an "At-lee-er". I guess they decided the cost to dub wasn't worth it at some point. Then again that was before Ryza did big  thighs numbers.

The $70 price tag basically kills my interest regardless of no English dub (never bothers me anyway).

make sure the pudding isn't too soggy but that just ruins everything

i've only ever played like an hour or two of Sophie years ago. i liked it but never got back around to it. assumed all these games were dubbed. i've been buying them for years as rainy day games. lol whoops. sub is actually a dealbreaker for me.

Demo progress carrying over is always a big win. I'm totally on board with the best open world rpg to release in March 2025 (screw AC Shadows)

Will Gust ever graduate to good looking and not janky games? Guess not. Someone please give them the budget and talent to make use of it

The battle system is kinda fun. Braindead easy but evading and changing distance is enjoyable. All the supporting cast needs to be shot. Look like an AI spit out some anime rejects. Having a rifle / wand is kind of neat. Haven't gotten to the crafting stuff yet. Need to go run some errands.

The battle system is much better than I expected, though fights so far have been extremely easy on normal and I hope they pick up later. Voice acting and animation is quite good with the only "big" issue so far being very low quality textures, though I personally don't mind that much. Performance has been solid on the pro, there is no official support, but up to the first open world zone it seems to run at a flawless 60 in quality mode. Too early to say anything about the alchemy system.

What is it with these ugly minimalistic simple menu styles in modern games?
A huge downgrade:

I much prefer how they did it in the past or like in Sophie 2.
This was made with love and has some character:

I got the plat in Ryza 1 but my main complaint was the combat was so easy. I even played it on hard. I only had to switch it down when attacking the bonus bosses they had.

The demo on Switch looks and plays pretty rough (lots of fps dips), so if you want to pick it up there, make sure to play the demo first to see if you're okay with what you're getting. If not go with the Steam/PS5/XBS version.

I want to play this but I can’t in my right of mind be caught playing it in front of my 7 year old on our family TV.

The chick with GGG knockers is too much for his fragile young mind to comprehend seeing his old man play.

Maybe it’ll run well on steam deck so I can play in bed?

Not a fan of this, played the demo and found the combat so hard to follow, basically mash all face buttons + L2 and a direction to make shit happen and dodge, it's too frantic to even know what TF is going on and hard to see the refill bar filling up on the face button skills. Hard pass.

The kid is going to find them sooner rather than later with how kids are now. He will be gooning in a matter of a couple years.

I saw make sure he grows up right. You don't want him to grow up not like titties, do you? Imagine not loving anime titties.

Or is it just one of Phil's balls in my throat?
I tried looking for it on Series X again this morning. Cannot find it anywhere. NA, EST time zone 🤷‍♂️. Reset my console and everything

I like the game. Requires you to read skill tips to know if you want to build up stun/stagger or inflict debuffs and other things. Can swap between frontline and backline for different attacks with their own cooldowns. Didn't play far enough to do character swapping but it's fast turnbased and action hybrid system. Has some modern MMO AoE and dodge mechanics. Perfect Guard and Perfect evade will enhance certain skills.

You can stun enemies with the Gun Staff to build up and stun enemies beginning of fight.

If I were to describe it it's like a Action ATB Final Fantasy kind of system but more free form then Ryza 3. Feels great. Instead of AP it's just managing CDs on skills.

Its just not very good. I want to like it but its pretty bad. I was ready to just start skipping dialogue near the end of the demo. Battles have a few cool elements but spamming attack with no real tactical depth isn't good. Demo did more harm than good for me. I can't imagine ever wanting to pay more than $20 for this. And that's pushing it.
