Attack on Titan is a really solid anime in my opinion. Probably my favorite so far (for this season, not overall) even though after the first 5 episodes they start to dialogue a bit too much so you'll be sitting there for 20 mins just watching nothing happening (like Dragonball Z). But beyond that its top notch I always thought

Cool to see a fan made game. Knew it would only be a matter of time to see some attempt at it.

wait, so the anime is bad? I watch the first 4 or 5 ep and it seems good. I also read a little bit of the manga and it's really good. what's wrong with the anime?

There's nothing wrong with the content, but the pacing took a hit lately because of production issues. It will (hopefully) even out after the recap episode in a few weeks.

Static-black-and-white-drawings-divided-into-panels master race reporting for duty.

I bet a 1st person Attack on Titan inspired game using the Occulus Rift would be rad.
the anime's art is 10000x better than the manga. really quite a visual feast.
Hahaha, the art is rough, especially in the beginning, I'll give you that, but it still has more personality to it than it's animated sibling.

You think FFXIII is better than VI, VII, VIII, X, and XII?!

EDIT: Ah crud... this thread really is getting out of hand.
Yes. Especially 10 which is the worst game in the series. Thirteen has more developed, complex characters than any of those. Plus it has a really unique universe and good in depth story.

Pretty sure best anime this season goes to Valvrave. And I'm sure Kagari agrees. rofl.

Valvrave blows. Worst anime ever.

Just kidding. I haven't started watching it yet. Been too busy catching up on other animes and staying current with my current favorites this season (Henneko and RomCom SNAFU). I am a sucker for slice of life anime.

It's only the single greatest thing to come out of Japan in the last 5+ years.

I feel like I could list TEN better animes if I had some sort of list by release date at hand, but it just so happens that they did not only animate Jojo's Bizarre Adventure last season but they also happened to animate arguably the best of all 8 parts, so your post could not be any wronger if it tried.

On the other hand, the anime is alright. Cool visuals, pretty production values, will probably get even better once they move the freaking boulder already and finally take back Namek.

"Amazing anime"... really? Are standards that low?

What's wrong with it? Anime is fine. Surely higher standard than anything I've seen in this season so far, except yondemasuyo azazel san Z.

now THAT's the anime that should be made into a game.

Game looks shitty btw.

Attack on Titan anime is okay, getting too much hype from anime only watchers, the manga gets mega dumb though.

I'd be cool with an Attack on Titan game if PG* made it.

I'm going to forgive you for everything simply because you said FFIX is the best FF. This is the truth. We'll agree to disagree on the others.

That is why I hate the mainstream anime crowd. They give the rest of the fan base and anime as a whole a bad name. I'm never going to understand how crap like Sword Art Online and K On get so popular while amazing worthwhile series like Steins;Gate and Fate/Zero stay behind the scenes. That helps reinforce anime stereotypes.

Poor pacing, bad animation, too many still scenes, too much filler... I can keep going. I enjoy the manga, if that helps.

does it get better? only checked out the first two volumes and they're hard on the eyes.

To be honest, when I heard about the hype, I watched the show hoping for battles against giants. I wanted to see how the human characters destroy the giants using their cool equipments, as shown in the OP. Instead, beside a few short battle scenes, it was mostly talking and humans getting emotional and destroyed by the enemy.

If it helps, I loved Steins;Gate to death and thoroughly enjoyed/enjoying Fate/Zero and Attack on Titan, while I nearly despise SAO for what it turned into and have never even thought of watching K On.

I understand if you are talking about anime in general, but Attack on Titan - bad animation? Surly you jest.

That's just not true. Attack on Titan actually has the better animation than most. I can't think of something that has better animation than AOT this year or last year.

I'm sorry but Fate/Zero was shitty show in my opinion. I agree that SAO was just bad though.

and are you dissing azazel san Z? Have you watched it?

Did you watch past episode 5? There are definitely some competent giant slayers after that point.

What? Steins;Gate and Fate/Zero were super popular in Japan and in English anime communities. How are they being pushed behind the scenes?

It has sporadically good animation. It's just that after the first few episodes, the studio's time constraints began to show. There were still great animated scenes at points, but there was also a dramatic increase in stills and corner-cutting.

I wasn't dissing that I haven't read/watched it yet. Im just addressing how everyone says anime is crap and has really low standards. It's caused by things like the popularity of SAO.

In terms of the mainstream casual fans that don't see much those series don't get much exposure. There is a lot of severely underrated anime like Baccano and Seirei No Moribito.

I'm not sure what crack you're smoking here. Lots of people watched and enjoyed Steins;Gate and Fate/zero.

The part which makes your post ironic is that S;G is something which contains a great number of otaku references which most people won't get unless they have watched a lot of anime beforehand. It's not in any way a 'mainstream' show to begin with.

I love love love the manga but I had the benefit of being clued into it well after it began

I bet the anime isn't as rad to newcomers considering those who aren't familiar with the source material have to wait a month between eps as opposed to someone who was able to read the equivalent of 20 or so in a night and breeze right past the slow beginnings

Yes I did and I want more of those, but don't really want to waste time watching the dialogue haha. I do check out the new battle scenes when I heard about it.

The scene in the OP where hundreds of humans fly into the air, I want to see that kind of battle!

Does it matter though? Anime is dead in America. There is no market. There are 'fandom' for sure, but it is niche as hell. Talking about mainstream fans and what not are just silly in my opinion.
