August Video Game Release Calendar...

No Death Jr. love? I haven't read anything about it in a couple months... is it looking REALLY BAD all of a sudden? The concept and everything seemed cool enough.

I missed something somehow. What four games were removed for the American Sonic Gems Collection?
The three Streets of Rage games were removed from the collection. :(
Sega wanted to avoid the T rating.

I bet with the right pleading, they could get an E10+. I mean, that's what they'd get if they made GBA ports.

Yes. Been getting bad reviews. I was looking forward to it as well, but it doesn't even seem to be in the "your mileage may vary" category. Word is it's just not very good.

GBA 16-Aug Sigma Star Saga
GCN 29-Aug Mario Superstar Baseball
NDS 22-Aug Advance Wars: Dual Strike
NDS 22-Aug Nintendogs (Labrador Retriever)
NDS 23-Aug Pac 'N Roll

I'll probably get those...

Huh? I've only seen four reviews of Death Jr. so far (on both Game Rankings and Metacritic). While two of the reviews were bad, the other two were very good. Based on that, this does seem to be a "your mileage may vary" situation. Personally, I think the game looks stylish and cool, and the gameplay has been compared to Ratchet & Clank (which I really like), so I'm going to take a chance and get this one. In fact, I have it preordered, so I can get the spiffy "limited edition" package. :D

Of course, I'm also getting Namco Museum Battle Collection for PSP, and also have that game preordered.

What's the latest info on Advance Wars : Dual Strike?

Is it a completey new game or just a port from the GBA ones?

And to the person above me, Advance Wars: Dual Strike is a brand new game that features pretty much more of everything. More unit types, air and land battles with the two screens, touch screen control, wireless multiplayer, etc. It might as well be called Advance Wars 3.

the only really good review is from Play. that isn't heartning. the EGM one is 3 people talking about how shitty the camera is and how generic the gameplay is.

Does every version of Nintendogs have every dog?

NDS 22-Aug Advance Wars: Dual Strike
NDS 22-Aug Nintendogs (Labrador Retriever)

Maybe the Paperboy/Rampage bundle if they're cheap enough.

Yes. Getting all three or playing somebody who has the different copies only makes unlocking the dogs faster.

Oh really? For some reason that makes me very happy. The fact that I was considering buying three versions of Nintendogs was quite depressing.

:lol Yeah, I noticed. That sure is a lot of compilations. Two of them are comprised of handheld board games. Woo!

While we're on the subject of board games, does any handheld system have a good version of Monopoly or non-junior Scrabble?

Wow. I'm buying a ton of shit this month.

Paperboy/Rampage Compilation(depending on price)
Sigma Star Saga
WWE Day Of Reckoning 2
Mario Super Baseball
Madden NFL '06 DS
Advance Wars: Dual Srike
Nintendogs
Madden NFL '06 Xbox
Incredible Hulk Xbox

looks like I better get ready to sell some games...

When I wrote what I did, the only reviews out there were EGM (4.8/10), OPM (2.5/5) and Play, who I tend to ignore since their scores seem arbitrary half the time. Since then it's picked up a 7 from IGN and a 7.5 from PSM. Better, but not exactly storming back since both usually grade towards the high end. Regardless of scores, I made the point that it doesn't seem like a "YMMV" situation because the EGM reviews ripped it over a terrible camera and other near-broken game elements, nothing about "this just isn't my type of game." We'll see what happens, but that was enough for me to take it off my list for now.

Sigma Star Saga and thats it. I will get Mario Baseball but once it hits cheap. I'm hoping that Mario Power Tennis will hit PC here in the next few months.

Curious about how DW Advance also.

If Scrabble were on DS, and online, I would be so down for it.

Its a completely new game.

According to IGN there was a version of (non-Junior) Scrabble published by Ubisoft for GBA, but it seems to be pretty hard to find (and obviously it wouldn't have any sort of online mode).
