Joe's got a point about the countdown. That was fucking stupid. Who the hell does time limits in matches these days anyway? If they wanted the two to fight to a draw, there should have been some outside interference or something, or have a no contest after they fight outside.

AJ just seems like he's bitching that he lost the title. The guy constantly complains that he's not getting pushed enough, yet he's the longest running champion in TNA history, is being paired with Ric Flair, is being put in the new Four Horsemen and is now the TV Champion. The dude is getting pushed more than anyone else in the company. RVD won the title, but he hasn't had near the television time AJ has.

I have yet to see Joe live up to the hype. I guess it's not his fault, but I don't really watch TNA consistently to know everything. I did see him here in town once for a PPV. He headlined against Booker T. The ending to that match made NO FUCKING SENSE.

The early days of Joe in TNA - including the undefeated streak - were very impressive. The three-way for the X Division title at Unbreakable 2005 is the stuff of legend.

That's because he hasn't lived up to the hype, and it's entirely TNA's fault. Joe's hype was based entirely around his epic ROH title reign, two 5* matches (against CM Punk & Kenta Kobashi) and being the guy who put on fantastic main events in ROH week after week - when he joined TNA he was the hottest property on the independent scene and they should have booked him like goddamn Vader, an unstoppable monster, but so many decisions they made in regards to his booking were flawed and even huge Joe fans like myself can see why those not familiar with his previous work would be entirely underwhelmed by him in TNA.

It mostly tna fault. Look at his story lines since February.

1. Lost to AJ Styles
2. Loses to Orland Jordan and is kidnapped
3. Releases kidnap video and later angle is dropped
4. Randomly attacks people when comes back and has no real feuds
5. Draw with Hardy

Can see why he is angry his angles have been crap since February.

Joe has just hit a rut and needs to EVOLVE his character a bit. He is just getting stale the way he is booked and just needs to do/say something interesting, period. I'm sure TNA is giving him time off to repackage him and give him what he feels he wants creatively.

Drew McIntyre recently did an interview with SLAM! Wrestling and here is an excerpt:

One of his frequent opponents in the UK was current WWE World champion Sheamus, who is from Ireland.

“There’s always been friendly competition between myself and Sheamus. We’re very good friends because we know how to get each other up,” McIntyre said. “We used to battle all over Europe and the world, in America as well. As far as I’m concerned, it’s the best match either of us has ever had.”

Sheamus and McIntyre were in the WWE developmental system at the same time, and McIntyre sees big things for them both — perhaps a WrestleMania main event against each other even.

“We’re both planning to take over our respective brands, which is happening quite nicely,” he said. “Then when the time comes, the world’s going to see a match better than the Undertaker and Shawn Michaels: me and Sheamus, both as heavyweight champions. It’s going to be THE greatest match of all time, guaranteed.”

Aw that's cute that he thinks that.

The team of Pegasus Kid (Chris Benoit) & David Finlay (yes, the same Finlay) vs Eddie Guerrero & Negro Casas from NJPW's 04/30/92 show.

Also, Sheamus has been winning me over these past few weeks, I couldn't be more bored with McIntyre...keep dreaming Drew :lol

The interview was probably done in character, so that's why he's so snarky. Still, I wouldn't mind seeing a match between the two of them. I don't know about headlining Wrestlemania, but a match nonetheless.

It could also be he's a big-headed guy, which was reported a month or two ago about how WWE management, and some wrestlers, were kind of fed up with it. dirtsheetz lawl, etc. - but I wouldn't be surprised these days by anything regarding wrestling businesses. The problem lies right now is neither of them have much charisma, especially McIntyre. I can't find a match between Orton's in ring work against a guy like Sheamus entertaining, either.

Sheamus has really matured and grown, so to speak, in the past year. His first title reign was a disaster, but I'm liking him now. McIntyre just needs to work on his mic skills a bit, and he'll be fine. I don't think he'll ever be WHC material, but he'd be a solid midcard guy.

I don't mean this in a "you just don't get him" way but how much of him have you seen? Is it only his recent TNA matches or have you also seen his old ROH stuff and his early run in TNA?
Just his latest run. I saw bits and pieces of his early TNA run, but I didn't watch TNA consistently back then. I guess I should blame the lousy booking, but he hasn't gotten over with me. PEACE.

His "latest run" has been completely crap. His early TNA, and ROH runs were spectacular, and what got him on the map in the first place.

Drew McIntyre is not going to get stuck in the midcard. Vince is on a mission to have world champions from different countries hence Khali, Sheamus(he's good), and Mason Ryan in FCW. Justin Gabriel will get a title soon to open up the South African market.
