The Manhattan aunt who sued her young nephew for breaking her wrist when he leaped into her arms at his birthday party won’t be getting a cent, a jury ruled Tuesday.

The 54-year-old woman had been seeking $127,000 from the youngster, who was the only defendant in the lawsuit.

Connell, a human resources manager, called her nephew a “very loving, sensitive” boy who still needs to be held accountable.

She told jurors last week that she walked into the party March 18, 2011, when a 50-pound Sean spotted her and screamed: “Auntie Jen, Auntie Jen!”

“All of a sudden he was there in the air, I had to catch him, and we tumbled to the ground,” Connell told jurors.

“I remember him shouting, ‘Auntie Jen I love you,’ and there he was flying at me.”

Connell said the broken wrist still gives her problems even now.

You can't make this shit up. Who in their right mind sues for this? Jury unanimously sided with the 8-year-old (now 12-year-old) thankfully.

a lot of my threads involve me fucking up somehow. Perhaps I'm a moron?
“I remember him shouting, ‘Auntie Jen I love you,’ and there he was flying at me.”

And she sued him!? Holy shit what a horrible person.

Really? I searched for 8-year-old and aunt and didn't find anything. My bad.

Well, the news about her losing just came out at least.

There was a thread about the general case here earlier today. But granted, this is about the result...so I think you're good :)

I hope that lawsuit that you didnt really have a good chance of winning was worth alienating an entire branch (or maybe all) of your family.

Considering what she did, I feel like it's a given that the kid said no such thing and this vain monster just made that up in her head.

These kinds of reports really need to come with a statement from the nutjob explaining what the hell they're doing.

Sounded like he was happy to see her, and wanted to give her a hug. My almost 4 year old nephew hugs me this way all the time.
True, but at 50 pounds I could see it knocking her down. She made her decision and the lawsuit is pure stupidity. Her defense of "I had to catch him" is false. The kid was being a kid.

I'm fairly sure that she was going after the homeowners insurance policy.

She sues her nephew, nephew can't pay, homeowners insurance kicks in to cover her medical bills.

If I were her nephew I'd send her over a platter of hors d'oeuvres arranged to spell out "CUNT" as a consolation prize.

Why did she think she would win?
No jury would rule in her favor given the facts of the case?
"Well you see I decided to try to catch him and got hurt, so it is clearly his fault for being excited to see me. Give me my money."

Edit: Just read this gem of a sentence in the article.
“I was at a party recently, and it was difficult to hold my hors d’oeuvre plate,” she said

The nephew won't be at her funeral, that's for sure. Insane woman.

She most likely won't be getting wedding invites to his wedding either.

I've seen these types of inheritance fights happen IRL. It's truly disgusting how entitled some people get over money they didn't earn.

I won't be leaving a estate myself. I'll give away most of my money while alive, and yes to my children if I have any. I don't want people fighting over money they didn't earn. I'd rather gift it while alive.

Someone in the other thread made the observation that she may have been going after some of the inheritance money; the boy's mother had recently died. Then she filed suit for something that happened 4 years prior.

Actually would explain things. I doubt the medical bill would be that much money.
Which makes me more glad she lost.
