When you moving to Liverpool Salazar?
I could not possibly be more glum today. About 9 hours left for something mildly amazing to happen or I will go to bed a somewhat broken man.

Go see Avengers, for it will surely cheer anyone up. And wear a snazzy coat.

Hey Sydneysiders, I heard an interesting story on Friday. Not sure if it's common knowledge in Sydney... Apparently once a year the Harbour Tunnel guys park a car in the middle of the tunnel in the wee hours of the morning, set fire to it, then sit back and watch what happens. Just to see how drivers react and how their emergency systems hold up.
Are you instructing the gentlemen of the thread to wear denim jackets, shan?
$265 fine for stopping near a pedestrian crossing.
Fantastic.

I always tell people about that rule but I had never heard of it being enforced before.$265 fine for stopping near a pedestrian crossing.

I was going to second this, but it looks like everyone else already had. Deek you're alone in this one.
Are people in Gaming seriously pissed about there being ads on XBL now? Seriously? It's like they've never watched TV, listened to the radio or been on the internet. Is this a common subscription in AusGAF too?
It's fun, I just finished it too.Cod, what the hell is this?
Contact ACA.
I don't know about you, but I don't pay a subscription fee for TV. Or Radio.
I think it's cool. Those types of down jackets are really popular in asia and eu during winter because they keep you really warm.
It's a functional piece of clothing rather than a fashion statement. Way cooler than a crappy North Face jacket!
Tell you what, I'm considering it.
Basically this is what happened. My mum was picking me up from the station. Her car pulled up as I started to walk across the pedestrian crossing. So she was stopped. I walked over the crossing, in front of the car around to the passenger side door and hopped in. This took approximately 3-4 seconds. There wasn't even a car behind us, so we weren't even holding anyone up.
Apparently a ranger was there and decided to take a photo. Bam, $265 fine and 1 demerit point for my mum.
Makes me want to become an anarchist.
What I don't get is that it's punishing the driver for the actions of the pedestrian. She had to stop because I was crossing. Once I decided to hop in the car, her options were to wait the 3-4 seconds, run me over, or drive away whilst I had the door open and run over my foot.
I'm writing a letter.
I swear Foxtel has more ads than FTA TV and heaps of people pay for that.
What? That makes no sense. Cars can't stop at crossing? Or a photo of you getting in a car is grounds to give the driver a fine? My head is full of fuck.
Maybe, but more people don't than do. Still doesn't mean people don't hate to pay for ads.
Well I was the only one on the crossing. But either way she had to stop because I was walking across.
I mean, would this have been worthy of a fine if there was no pedestrian crossing? If someone is just driving down the street, and there is no traffic, are you allowed to stop and let someone get in the car? Or would that get you a $265 fine?
I totally understand that line of thinking, but Gaming seems ready to stab Bill Gates in the heart over it. It's a pretty minor thing. And it's not like it's the first time there have been ads in games.
Or like these are pop ups you can't not see. I couldn't even tell you what ads were on it. Actually I think there was an Avengers one the other day.
They mostly seem like ads for games or competitions aren't they?

Plenty of stories don't make it into the media for lots of reasons. I don't read/watch Sydney news so wouldn't know, either way.If that was true, surely once a year there would be a story about a burning car in the HT?
It's English, so make it up!unlistenable (is that a word?)
Any reason why you are playing that and not dota 2? I'm pretty sure they are mostly similar and dota 2 is probably harder to get into. There's a fair few of us in ausgaf playing Dota 2 though, most of us are terrible

Bloody hellPolice have been on a fine spree lately. my dad copped one a couple of months ago for "only stopping at a stop sign for 5 seconds" in a back street that no one uses. The cops camped out there in a plain car and apparently got a bunch of people. I kinda feel like they should be doing something worthwhile rather than fining people for stopping at crossings on empty roads.
Advertising has made commercial radio completely unlistenable (is that a word?). I just can't anymore. If you're paying for xbox live they really shouldn't NEED ads.

As for this no stopping thing, I can't find it in the NSW Road users Handbook. Am I just missing it?

LOL, can't even find the thread, so I don't know.
Well for one I'm not in the beta.
Super MNC is MOBA third person shooter with a well-done TF2 aesthetic. I've tried League of Legends and didn't hate it, but the terminology and research needed before even hitting play was such that I was kind of done before I began. Even the interface (while simple) was an additional layer of abstraction due to my unfamiliarity with that style of game (RTS and Diablo) on top of the fact I'd never played a MOBA before.
With Super MNC I could pretty much play a Medic pumping a heal beam into people and hang back while I figured shit out and became comfortable enough to try other classes. There was still a barrier to entry with the terminology, but I'd already done that work with LoL. It also helped a ton that the game is newly launched F2P game in a very different style to other MOBAs and thus the game is awash with noobs and I'm subsequently far less likely to actively hurt the team I'm on.
I'll certainly give Dota2 a go when I can, but I had immediate fun with Super MNC and I can't say that about LoL. So I never went out there trying for a Dota2 key that someone who DOES already enjoy that style of game would probably appreciate more.
It just seems like a really minor thing to be screaming bloody murder over. But yeah, I guess I understand. Whatever, I just wanted to see if this was a widespread annoyance or just one of Gaming's many over blown deal-breakers

I probably stop like less than a second if there are clearly no cars.
Sal/kpop people have you seen this?
