AusGAF 9 - F*** Off, We're Full (Of People With Different Ethnic Backgrounds)

Reposting: anyone interested in 30 day US PS plus trial and/or 30 day Music Unlimited trial?

US credit card is required to verify but codes will work with existing US PSN accounts, don't need to make a new one.

I'm worried that one of mine was cancelled as I placed two orders but only one of them updated with shipping info and a tracking number.

Xbone? lol nope

When it hits $400 I'll think about it. Would need some good exclusives though. I don't like Forza :(

No shipping update but they took my money. Have a bad feeling that they'll have to cancel a lot of orders.

If they took the money it's likely your order will be shipped.

EDIT: Reposting as BTB confirmed it's UK copies!

$27 posted for Bioshock Infinite on 360/PS3. Import copy from UK so DLC will work with both!

I got an email on the day saying that my games had been allocated to a couple of shops but I haven't heard anything since. I paid with PayPal so they took my money already

Also this is what you get when you spend 5 years development on ONLY next gen platform versions of a basketball game

Looks so fucking much better than the cross-gen garbage 2K14 is trying to peddle. Can't believe they release a game every 12 months, across 5-6 platforms, and expect you to eat up that tripe.

Wow EA...

I know, I just find it funny that with all the shit MS has copped (a lot of it justified) they have a more compelling launch lineup of games, you know, the main reason you buy these things :)

Personal opinions and all that but I believe the Xbone has a better launch lineup than the PS4.

I think most people believe this. Forza and Killer Instinct certainly seem more appealing to me than anything on the PS4. Dead Rising 3 too if that floats your boat. PS4 has a better follow up early next year though with Driveclub and Infamous. Xbone has Titanfall but I can play that on PC.

Launch games don't really matter that much in the long run anyways. All I remember from the last gen launch was Perfect Dark Zero and Kameo being bad and Condemned being alright. Playstation 3 launch was uhh... nothing?

I'm mainly going PS4 because of my preference for Sony first party over Microsoft, lower price, better multiplatforms, better Japanese support, PS+ being better than XBL Gold, integration with Vita, and just the general feeling of Sony being more consumer friendly and also more focused on purely gaming than Microsoft the past year.

I'll probably own both in like 5 years anyway so it's kind of moot in the long, long run. But I don't particularly want to play any of the announced exclusives just yet so I gain nothing from upgrading right now.

I picked up the 360 and PS3 at launch (real launch, imported an NTSC 360 and an NTSC-J PS3) and I was really happy with the 360 launch. I loved PGR3, Kameo (love/hate game), Condemned, Geometry Wars and I liked PD0 (the multiplayer was pretty good). When the PS3 arrived all I got was Resistance and I was pretty bummed out with the thing. I ended up playing about 100 games (rough guess) on my 360 (however a lot of those I could have got on PC if I had a good gaming PC at time, I was using a 7800GTX and it just made more sense to get the games on 360). On PS3 I ended playing about 30 games? The big difference between the two is that I played most of my 360 games in its few years and most of the PS3 games in its last. So I get the whole "it's an investement" line of thinking.

Now though I figure, why invest in something that is going to just sit there collecting dust (edit: like the Wii-U I bought over a month ago that has never been opened) for sometime, when most of the games coming out for both are/will be on PC, where they look/run better and I get for 1/3 - 1/2 the price. Both systems more or less require me to pay to play online as well, so there is another expense that is wasted (OK, in PS4's case the Vita subscription I have is just the same, which incidentally is just sitting there dorment).

So now I am playing (for me) the sensible game of waiting, and I will pickup both consoles when there is some more compelling experiences to be had. In the PS4's case probably MGSV (unless it comes to PC) or the next ND game (well the one after, the next ND game is for PS3 :)), as for Xbone, I will probably get it when there are some more/better Kinect games. I am particularly interested in the fitness genre of games, of which there aren't many (read one) at launch. By waiting I potentially save money on the hardware, maybe get a pack in and don't have to deal with all the launch bullshit.

Having said all that, if I didn't have a gaming PC, I would have a legitimate reason to get one/both right now. As it stands, I would rather leave that money in the bank or spend it on other hobbies :)

Yeah heard the same from everyone else who's playing it. I'll probably pick it up as soon as I can find a cheaper version. Amazon PSN digital store is no longer accepting overseas credit cards, so will look out for a local copy.

I had to change to one of my USA billing and shipping addresses at Amazon to let it sell me PSN codes but those US addresses are linked to an Aussie card. Have you tried your Aussie cc with an American address?

There's also the fact that I have a LOT of games to play on PC in my library already. Fair's fair, I often don't actually feel like playing them, but I do have a shittonne on here I should at least try.

Yes, didn't work. A friend from the UK had his account suspended and amazon have asked him to provide a bank statement verifying his address, so I'm not going to take any more chances now.

377 games owned
256 games played

Has 1800.5 hours of playtime. Their most played game is DOTA 2, with 510.38 hours played, which accounts for 28% of their total playtime.

To be fair most of my Steam hours were pre game time counting, been on it since the CS:S beta. But Jesus Christ 510 hours on DOTA 2, I can't believe how shit I am still.

AusGAF 10 - Node Country for Old Men

My friends, my friends, thank you, thank you so much. I can inform you that the thread of AusGAF has changed for just the tenth time.

You obviously enjoyed reading it, so let me say it again. The thread of AusGAF has changed. For just – for just the tenth time in five years, the thread of Australia has changed.

I now look forward to forming a thread that is competent, that is trustworthy, and which purposefully and steadfastly and methodically sets about delivering on our commitments to you, the AusGAF posters.

Something very significant has happened today. Today, the people of AusGAF have declared that the right to govern this country does not belong to HolyCheck or to me or to his threads or to ours; but it belongs to you, the people of AusGAF.

A thread that says what it means and means what it says. A thread of no surprises and no excuses. A thread that understands the limits of power as well as its potential.

A good thread, a good thread is one that governs for all AusGAF. Including those who haven't posted in it. A good thread is one with a duty to help everyone to maximise his or her potential. Political people. Console gamers. And our forgotten members, as well as those who Markot described as Hitlers. We will not leave anyone behind.

I have many friends in this thread. I say thank you to each one. We have been on a journey together, a long, long journey together, a long, long journey. May it continue, and may it help to bring better times to this great thread of which we are all so very, very proud. Thank you so much. Thank you so much.

Harsh. I've actually had a few parcels shipped from Amazon to my US address as it's with a parcel forwarding service so hopefully my account won't set off any flags because of that.

What's this now? I use a US shipping address with my Australian credit card, I just recently bought XCOM Enemy Within this way.

NBN in my area was removed from the map. But in the past 2 days I have had contractors pulling ropes through the pits to check if its clear which is generally what they do before they lay the fibre I am trying so hard it not get my hopes up.
