churches etc were free to spend as much money as they liked and weren't held to truth in advertising standards

We're going to lie. Let's put that out in the open. Make it okay for this to happen. Thanks.

That is purple and grey...Do you happen to be colorblind? I don't mean to offend, but you may want to get that checked.

there are two shades of purple in that. that poster is not talking about the grey.

Right, and the post said Pink.

very easy to write pink in error. your post came across to me like you thought the grey was what the other poster called light pink.

I was only trying to help. Could be error, but it could be a sign of colorblindness.

anyway, let's stay on topic.

Que?

Apologies for not thinking of "purple", but there are 2 tones to that "purple" (which I called light and dark pink) and greyed out countries. My vision is fine dudes, I just can't name colours to save my life :v

Thanks for the concern though :p

a) federal funding had to go to both "Yes gay marriage" and "No gay marriage" campaigns, and churches etc were free to spend as much money as they liked and weren't held to truth in advertising standards, b) It was probably going to give bigots a wonderful licence to spout off their garbage as if it was worth anything

Glad to see you didn't fall for the same mistakes that we Colombians did with the plebiscite for peace!

But...

For those curious this is the map of fully legal same-sex adoption in the world:

Dark pink is fully legal.
Light pink (one or two countries) is second parent adoption.

Now we are in danger of becoming light pink :p

Fucking far right, they want to hold a referendum on same sex adoption. Bastards want to leave human rights up for the majority of the country. Might as well make it illegal.

Wtf, I just can't.

I thought your Supreme Court was who made same sex marriage&adoption legal. Can it be overturned by a referendum?

I like referendums, but I can see why a marginalised group wouldn't want one.

I was about to type "Welcome to the Family, Australia" until I finished reading the OP. Kinda disappointing.

Ah well.

Dark blue is where same-sex marriage is fully legal.

I haven't looked at any map like this in several years, so it's interesting to see what happened in Mexico, it seems like a microcosm of what happened in the US prior to 2015.

Looking at the always depressing state of affairs on many issues in Africa and Asia, South Africa stands alone as a beacon of light in a lot of areas, tolerance is one of them. Way to go.
