All this talk about dont hurt loli makes me kinda happy that Gunslinger Girl end up finishing as perfect as it is in manga.

I really love the author dont pull any punches on the final arc. Not all story must end in happy ending and even in the tragedy, there can be some positives to be look for. Still easily one of the best manga i have read there.^_^

It was late at night, I was going to sleep anyway!

And it's the new seasonal stuff so it was the right day.

Can someone tell Line that I'm not interested in talking with him anymore? Showing such a lack of respect to a cardboard cutout Chihaya is just too much.

Even though it was my mistake to expect anything from someone who change waifus every three months.

I can imagine a Battle Royale game like PUBG working like this. Get a big map and get a bunch of super powered characters to kill each other.

Well, I did say my thoughts on this show would be based ultimately how they treat Shiori. Thankfully she can very much take care of herself. Sort of. Tell her you have what she wants and she's all ears...

Thank God that last bit turned into a comedic one. I highly doubt they'll do anything past that kiss and she'll get that phone anyway.

This show, and everyone in it, is dumb. Especially the MC.

As formulaic as this show is, I'm still digging the vibe of the show and each character. Also, seems like Monkey's pacifism is all about manipulation and not just fine negotiation.

Orochimaru commits high treason. Kills a kage, and a laundry list of other things and he's now just under surveillance.

Kagura gives a few revolutionists a few swords and immediately faces execution.

Man. The world has changed in such a short time.

It's not like they could execute Orochimaru and make it stick.

He's basically stuck performing high-value slave labor for the rest of eternity.

I'm not saying they should've killed him, but at least take away his stuff and not leave him to his own devices still.

I guess a better comparison would've been Sasuke.

So with the formula the show is following, we think
Monkey is going to die and Rat is OP because he invades peoples thoughts/dreams?

UQ Holder - 3 Not digging the changes between this adaption and the manga but I think the show is only going to be 13 episodes sooo...

Episode titles so far are following that trend too, but I'm kind of expecting the current trend to end with episode 4.

I agree in general with you guys about these problems with Made in Abyss (although I never felt it was prominent enough to dampen my enjoyment or stop me from recommending it), but I was curious. Do you guys believe there are ways to do those things tastefully and what would they be? For exemple, these kids are going on an adventure, and they need to not only bathe, but other stuff like poop as well. Is there no way to show that stuff tastefully? I know in the case of Made in Abyss the author is a lolicon and the intent is there, but if my intent is just to show that these kids are having to deal with these natural parts of life, is there no way to escape these judgments?

The tasteful way would be to not show those things. Is a scene of them pooping really going to add anything of value to the story?.

As for nudity or sexual content, I generally just don't like it when it involves children but if you go that route then at least have it impact the story.
A decent example would be Berserk
Guts, the main character, went through sexual abuse as a kid
, and this does directly affect him as a character and is one of the moments that directly affects his personality early on in the story (he is distant and distrustful of others).

In Made in Abyss the nude scenes just don't add anything. They are just there because I guess the author wanted to draw the girl naked.

So there are people here. I knew the last epsidoe was oddly empty considering the first episode featured people in it. What hole did they all crawl of though since even the subway was empty...? Funnily enough the show comments on that for a brief moment.

I knew they shouldn't have been eating those aliens. Whelp.

I don't think it gets even more yuri than this.

“So how do we keep the 7 most deadliest swords known to the ninja world safe from being stolen?”
“Wooden puppets?”
“Brilliant”

Tangentially related, but there's an old story about the twelve Chinese zodiac animals competing in a race against each other. I forgot most of it, but the Ox was the fastest of them all, and beat everyone to the finish line. Except that the entire time the Rat was hiding inside the Ox's ear and jumped out at the very last moment to cross the finish line before the Ox, taking first place.

I'm assuming they're going to play off of that (I think the order of the people dying in the show and the order of the animals finishing from last to first is the same so far).

I still have some catching up to do, Sakura Quest, LWA, Abyss etc but itll be hard to topple that as my bestest anime of the year. Ending put it a bit over Rakugo season 2 for me.

Good looking poster.

Apparently that Trigger mecha show is being written by the Steins;Gate and Plastic Memories guy.

Not sure whether to get excited or not.

That guy is SUPER creative with his scenarios, but Plastic Memories ended up as one of the biggest wastes of potential I'd ever seen.

He made such an interesting world and did absolutely nothing interesting with it!

So I hope this has more of a Steins;Gate inspiration than a Plastic Memories inspiration.

I was going to watch it regardless, but I'm certainly more interested now.

Saint Titanfall
I thought Triggers thing was being poor mans Gainax
I'm not sure you can be a poor man's version of something when a large number of your employees are former staff members of said thing that jumped ship. I mean Gainax is essentially just a shell at the point.

Sadly Triggers output doesn't match up with said heritage.

This is incorrect. Nishigori wrote the show and Naotaka Hayashi was there on a consultant/assistant basis. This is Nishigori's darling all the way through.
