If he can crush a planet then I'm pretty sure people will ask why cant he just do the same earth, or a man in a metal suit.
We'll get her in Avengers 4, I'm sure, if not in this towards the end.

No it's not, it's anticlimactic and bad fan service. All the reasons Thanos doesn't destroy everyone can be resumed to "We couldn't be bother to come up with good reasons to have a epic fight/slaughter".

Yeah...maybe a small percentage of viewers. Most just go into these films for a good time, not some term paper.

He can literally blink them out of existence but he reduces his powers to make it a fair fight. He fights them and gives them a chance to impress Mistress Death.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if Secret Wars 2 is going to be the next "big event" after the MCU wraps up with Thanos as their central antagonist, most likely complete with Doctor Doom.

This is going to be the most epic superhero movie ever made, cannot wait to see the trailer.
As long as they don't shit the bed with Thanos, after all the build up and actually make him a real threat to everyone, then I can't see how this movie won't be nothing but amazing.

No, that would literally be there first question on most people's minds. It'd be like the eagles in LOTR with long time source material fans trying to list explanations/reasons
They said it isn't a 2 part movie, but that doesn't mean part 4 won't be a continuation of part 3. I could easily see Thanos getting the infinity stones in this movie and getting away setting up the next movie with a complete gauntlet. Unless they make this 3 hours it'll seem rushed.
No-one's being defensive. I think most people are (quite rightly) confused why you'd go into a thread for people discussing details for the new Avengers movie if you're just going to comment on how bored you are with superhero movies. If you're so bored with superhero movies, why come into the thread at all as opposed to entering discussions about things more attuned to your tastes?
I'm still hoping part 1 is thanos traveling across the universe, collecting all the gems, and it ends on earth with him fighting the avengers for the gems that are on earth (vision, eye of agamotto). He gets them, snaps his finger, credits roll.
Then part 2 is just the fuckery that is thanos with the complete gauntlet.

Some folks need to realise Thanos is unstoppable and beyond any of them, the Avengers & Guardians don't have a chance of beating him, and that is why them facing him and trying to stop him is heroic.
And as we all know people hate LotR

Maybe questioned, but quickly forgotten. The eagles at this point are just an internet joke. Sure, why didn't they take them? But that doesn't mean people don't enjoy the ride of the films.
