I found it took a long while for me to come around and enjoy B movies. Always expecting too much based on recommendations I suppose. Problem is, for a good B movie you're not supposed to go in with expectations. Just enjoy them. And with that I'd say I've grown to become a fan. Just seen Tremors today for the first time really watching it. It was on digital cable. Jurassic Park was on too and I was flipping between the two. Me and my brother laughed our asses off at Tremors though and just put the controller down. Watched it till the very end. Great great movie. So definetly a fan here!

Depends on the movie, just like my opinions on every genre. Sometimes they're great, sometimes they suck. That's about as much as I could say. I enjoy pretty much every genre and subgenre out there when done well.

I love B-movies. Even the awful ones are interesting to watch, since they are usually a snapshot of a trend that was going on at the time it was shot. Even those cheap erotic thrillers from the early '90, those terrible ninja flicks from the '80, and those god damn bizzaro '70 surnatural movies.

My all-time favorite B-movies used to be on USA's Up All Night. Gilbert Godfried was the host, and then they had that old busty blonde chick. This was back when USA wasn't considered a serious cable network, so they'd pull some sneaky shit. I loved:

Lust For Freedom (Women in prison. Need I say more?)

Night of the Creeps ("I've got good news and bad news, girls. The good news is, your dates are here. The bad news is, they're dead.")

Leprechaun (You really have to be in the right frame of mind to enjoy a stinker like this)

From Beyond (What happens when you mix the eighties and Lovecraft)

Coin Return

Loose Slot
No Retreat No Surrender is the worst (best?) B movie of all time.

-80's martial arts movie
-token black guy
-terrible acting
-incoherent story
-unitentionally funny

B Movies are fantastic.

I agree that USA's Up All Night was fantastic, as was TNT's Monstervision with that redneck guy. And Sci-Fi had their variation of it with William Shatner that was pretty hysterical.

Here's the plot

A gangster boss (Ice-T) has a list of about 100 people who have screwed up at one point or another. Rather than outright killing them, he decides to have a little fun by putting all of them together in a high security prison, unarmed, and dumping bucketfulls of guns, ammo, and baseball bats on them and letting them kill each other. The final three who survive are given a prize of 10 million dollars. Let chaos reign.

:D Awesome stuff!

"You know, if I was you, I would have thrown that knife by now..."

(after killing the guy)

"I TOLD YOU! Don't hold the f*ckin' knife....THROW the f*ckin' knife (or does he say "THROW the mutha f*cka?")!"

The Spider-Man movies are B movies with a better budget.

I've always thought that. And that's not a insult and one of the main reasons why I enjoy them so much.

I think that's Sam Raimi injecting a good portion of his personality in the flicks. They never take themselves too seriously, none of the comics do as well, and it pays off with exciting, fun pieces of cinematic entertainment.

That's it in a nutshell. Well said. Or typed. Whatever.

:lol I was gonna mention Surviving the Game...that movie just rocks.

Tremors is also a classic...probably seen it ten times now.

Not sure if Darkman qualifies or not, but regardless it's high on my like list.
