He wants me to install XP and up his RAM, so he bought two 512 sticks. I get here and he's already playing hockey with one of his 64 sticks. I open his machine and go to install the RAM when I see that he bought the wrong RAM. I tell him, and he starts throwing F-Bombs all over. He can't return the RAM for the right type until next week, but he wants XP on it anyway. I tell him it's going to be slow as hell with only 64MB, but he doesn't care. And since he's paying me, I don't care.

I managed to run XP with 96MB of ram on a 300mhz celeron. It was tolerable, but not very.

Why are you worried about 64MB? Nobody will ever need more than 640Kb anyway.

I installed WinXP on a PII 400 with 32 meg ram... Bootup took a few hours or so
