Dude appeared to be a mouthy dick.

Top tip: Cops aren't allowed to hold and pummel you because you're a dick.

Everyone involved except the lady is a clownfart.

This.

He shouldn't have been uppity. The cop was simply putting that guy in his place. He probably called the cop a "gaylord cunt muscle pig" (little known physiological fact. That phrase will set off all cops, it's a psychological trick that works 100% of the time. Police hate that phrase!).

If you don't want to get punched by the police, know your place, spread your cheeks and lift your sack.

Also I'm black (always mention that as it validates ANYTHING!) and I don't see the problem in this video!~

Why does no American politician ever dares to suggest reform in the police corps? I mean, people see this and thinks that there's no problem or whatsoever with police acting like thugs? I mean, Jesus fuck.

Cops are here to shepherd the poor and brown folks into their jail cells. Jails are a big-n-growing business in the US (We have the most Jails of ANY NATION! YAY! :D ) and ya gotta fill em up, right?!? (We also JAIL the most people! YAY USA x2!! XD ... :-/ )
So the people in power here in the US makes up Bull Shit racist stuff like the "War on drugs" and allow the cops ever more power over the poor and brown ... because the cops don't dare bother the people in power (they have money AND power!).

Just think about all the money we pump into the military ... and how much of that could go towards making all cops wear a cam when on duty and universal health care and bettering infrastructure and education and other shit that would help the poor and brown folks in this nation.

Sigh ...

You're all stupid. If you knew anything about police, you'd realize how hard their job is. After a tough stressful day of having to police violent blacks and risking your life in order to protect innocent white people, you should be able to go into a liquor store for some chocolate regular whole WHITE milk without having to deal with some violent criminal that's threatening you with his fighting stance. We should be donating to this poor officer who most likely damaged his hands irreparably while defending himself against this animal.

I'll just set this right here for those of you who haven't seen it.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-qEr_mZf06Y

This shit was pretty aggravating to watch. The poor dude on fire and the two women really had me fuming..then came the trying to file a complaint. Are you fucking kidding me? You're gonna arrest someone that wants to file a fucking complaint of abuse? The irony.

Then again, I'm sure someone will stroll in soon enough to explain away the straight bullshit in that video..

Never, you cannot attack a peace officer at any time. They represent the law, to attack them is to attack the entire justice system and the rule of law. Best way to protect yourself from a bad cop is to record, comply, and report. Most of the incidents with these cops are avoided if people don't make trouble for them, but then again these incidents also help weed out the bad cops.

Hopefully this idiot gets the book thrown at him. Poor guy.

peace officer? that nickname seems almost facetious lol. but yeah i guess that's all you can do is "record, comply, and report", but that still doesn't address that one of these "bad cops" could potentially kill you, lie, and get away with murder if you have no recording devices or witnesses, which was the point of my original question. it seems we as citizens need some legal loophole to protect ourselves from incidents like these or something more severe.

Dude, that cop fucked up. Hope his ass is fired and that dude takes that dept. to the bank until they learn how to police themselves.

This is an excellent example of a situation where we have enough evidence to assail the cop right off the bat. Hence why there aren't any (I think?) non-satirical "wait for the evidence" posts, because most of us don't have an agenda besides discouraging vilification without credible evidence.

In other words, carry on. The assailment is justified here. That cop went off the handle, and the other cops should have intervened.

Could a lawyer who represented someone that was put in jail due to this cop's testimony potentially use this situation to get their client out of jail/prison?

I seriously hope this piece of shit is fired. To do anything less just tells officers they can do whatever the fuck they want even if they get caught.

Probably not without some hard evidence like this video

Uppity=Violent Cop..lol, too cute.
I don't think Stinkles is implying that both sides are equal. Police officers are held to a higher standard than the rest of society. But if you're making threats at someone you're still a dick. Being sucker punched in the face doesn't invalidate your dickishness. It just makes the other guy an even bigger cock.

There are people that believe that, if someone insults you, and others are around to hear it, you have to fight them to save face. The prisons are swelling to bursting with those people. That type of violence is endemic to certain parts of society.

Baltimore officer caught on video beating suspect is suspended

Of course...
Carlos Miller said:
The prosecutor dropping the charges against Truss is a no-brainer, but his review of the videotape should have immediately led to criminal charges – against Cosom and the other officers. Cosom committed assault and battery against both Truss and Coleman, but instead of instantly facing criminal charges and being fired from the police force, Cosom is currently on paid administrative leave.

Does this paid administrative leave thing happen in other fields?

Christ, the whole thing's on camera and it doesn't even matter.

I can be fired for sleeping on the job. I wonder what would happen if I punched out a jogger in front of our building.

Just wonder in the past when cameras were not avaliable as these days the amount of police brutality that never went public.

These dudes get a paid vacation for knocking out essentially defenseless people. Its crazy.
I agree 100% that the cop deserves to be tried and loose his job and go to jail over this if found guilty, but posts like this are seriously stupid. You think the cop is currently in Vegas gambling or on a Caribbean cruise right now? He is essentially under house arrest and that is the proper thing to do. The cop shouldn't be on the job until cleared, can't go around tampering with evidence or witnesses and can't flee the country. But his family's livelihood shouldn't be effected in case he is found innocent for whatever reason.

Surprised and honoured to be the first to post this.

Cleared of WHAT? Did you see the video? I mean, he did it. Why the same paid leave shit, as if he did nothing wrong? Not sure about this "but" stuff..

So if there is a video of someone sucker punching someone you can just skip the trial and go directly to punishment? The whole right to a fair and speedy trial with a lawyer means nothing now? Sure the cop is guilty as sin and will be found guilty unless something crazy happens but you gotta go through the judicial process.

Yes. It's standard procedure, because you don't want to penalize someone before the investigation is completed. It's there for a reason, even if in cases like this it's blatantly obvious what needs to be done.

He certainly could be if that's how he wanted to spend his "leave" time.

He is essentially under house arrest.
Um... no. Not remotely.

The cop ... can't flee the country.
He's not "out on bail." He's on "paid administrative leave." He can do pretty much whatever he wants.

But his family's livelihood shouldn't be effected in case he is found innocent for whatever reason.

So if I blatantly beat someone's ass on camera while I'm at work, as long as no charges are filed (and even if they are, not until I'm found guilty), I shouldn't be fired? Thankfully, some people, like Sheriff Apple, feel differently.

So if there is a video of someone sucker punching someone you can just skip the trial and go directly to punishment? The whole right to a fair and speedy trial with a lawyer means nothing now? No one said he should go to prison without a trial (although he should be charged and go to jail until someone can post bail). Getting fired or even unpaid leave has absolutely nothing to do with the right to a fair and speedy trial.

So every single person would get paid leave for something like this? You act as if he's sitting in a corner, in his Baltimore basement, sobbing like an infant. He's getting paid..he shouldn't. Is there something wrong with that statement?

Thanks, Russell..

How is it that you don't get paid in the US when you can't come to work because you are sick, but you do get paid when you can't come to work because you assaulted or murdered someone (someone black or brown) as a cop?

Seems kinda weird tbh

Baltimore Police Chief Calling for Federal Investigation into Officers After Latest Video Shows Contradictions
Oh, Baltimore.

Last week saw another “use-of-force” arrest caught on video, only a week after a previous video emerged, where the public debate over the very meaning of that phrase continues in its muddled rage.

This time, it was one unarmed man against five officers, all of whom have since returned to work after a short stint on paid administrative leave. Baltimore police insist the officers’ use of taser and baton was justified because the victim, Jamar Kennedy, had been reaching for the cop’s gun.

But then a cell phone video emerged showing Kennedy was just trying to defend himself from repeated blows with the baton.

Ugh, America seriously, how fucking hard is it to not employ complete shits in your police force? Do they even do interviews?

Well we know NYPD don't hire people with high IQ levels. I wouldn't be shocked if this practice extended to other departments.

Apparently it does extend to other departments. The reason Baltimore PD top brass are calling for federal investigators is because

On Friday, however, the department’s top brass called another press conference, this time saying they are calling for a United States Department of Justice investigation into the department, considering the latest video is hardly an isolated incident. In fact, the city has dished out $5.7 million in court judgements and settlements in 102 cases since 2011, according to the Baltimore Sun, who conducted a six-month investigation into the department.

That is a lot of misconduct even the ferguson pd would be ashamed(not really) of them.
