BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment teases a new project. #PrepareToDine

Well, I fucking loved the art. If the actual game can live up to that, it'll look fantastic at least.

At first I was excited, but after I realized that this was a Bamco tease....

...is this gonna be Brand X Bloodborne? The Dark Souls to BB's Demon Souls?

I mean, it'd still be neat potentially, but I dunno. The twist that Bloodborne takes with it's lore is part of that game's neat surprise. I'm not sure a straight gothic horror title could carry the same oomph.

Isn't possible it's a game made by small developer or indie similiar to Little Nightmares? I don't think this is a game made by Bamco 's own developers.

Also why is everyone saying vampire's

1. The Japanese version of this teaser is slightly more complete, with a date of Apr 20th instead of "PTD". Somehow I doubt it's an indie, and I doubt Namco would be stupid enough to push something of Doujin quality with the Dark Souls tagline

2. Hmm, were the fangs, licking up blood, pale skin, and red eyes not a good enough hint?

I guess not my bad lol. Optimistic about what this is tho.

That trailer was so sick. I don't know if it's From or what, but we'll find out soon enough. The art style is so clean, even if it isn't representative of the final game, it's still nice. Intriguing teaser. Definitely tuning in on the 20th.

Dark Soles

One poor girl slew her own kin, but even so, was embraced, enveloped by the Abyss.
Twas a comfort that neither moon nor sunless sky afforded her before.
Fear not, the dark, my friend.
And let the feast begin.

Prepare to dine is also one final boss song in another Bamco game, Taiko no Tatsujin 3DS (the 3rd game I think), reading the title made me want to go back to it.

Day 1. Can't wait for more information. Didn't the creative director say he's now doing whatever he feels like is ideal game/Magnum Opus?

This is weird, no idea how to parse this. If they were making Bloodborne 2 I feel like this wouldn't be the way to tease it - Sony would want to keep it for an E3 stinger. If it were a new IP, why use the "prepare to" tagline? Feels like this might be an anime short or maybe some weird low budget crossover. I wouldn't get too hyped for this yet.

It can be a new IP in the same vein of a Souls game. The marketing team at Namco Bandai probably thought Prepare to Dine would be a fantastic slogan for a Souls-esque game starring vampires and I'm inclined to agree.

I doubt it is From Software, surely there's a better way of marketing it that some small anime teaser. And the rating is 16+, usually these kinds of games are 18.

looks interesting. just please don't be a 2d side scroller. i hope it's similar in gameplay to dark souls/bloodborne. if it's anything like salt & sanctuary then forget it.

y'know what'd be really weird

Cross Souls

A Soul Calibur game featuring Dark Souls characters

and

A Dark Souls-esque game set in the Soul Calibur universe

I feel like the "prepare to dine" slogan is very suggestive. Obviously that's what they want but I just can't see them using that unless it was something in the vein of souls. Prepare to die is a very well known Souls slogan. So either they're trolling or this is some new project, possibly FROM soft.

As it's a teaser it's possible that they deliberately haven't put FROM's logo on there as that would totally give the game away. We do know BAMCO / FROM are working on something Switch related too - I mean they were on that list of publishers / developers for Switch that Nintendo posted a couple of months back.

Oh god if Switch is getting some kind of FROM soft vampire based Souls esque game... My heart.

Well, I wouldn't bet on that yet. They know the value of Souls slogan marketing, they might as well use it for all it's worth, even if the game doesn't have anything in common with Souls in the end.

True.

Another thing which has just occurred to me is that this could be a bigger project. I know quite a few people in here are speculating that it could well be some small, crossover project type thing, but if that was the case then bother doing a teaser 5 days before a full reveal? Seems like quite a lot of effort for some small pet project.

i'm taking the tagline with a grain of salt but it has me wondering if bamco will make "souls" a legit brand... something that can be farmed out to different devs, games that don't necessarily have anything to do with miyazaki's "dark souls"

Why not just wait for E3, though? If it's a big project, that would give it the most exposure.

That's not true. The only games that get exposure during E3 are the ones that show up on the big press conferences. Everything else is competing in an ocean of hundreds of other games all screaming for attention.

I'm running on the assumption that it would show up in one of the press conferences if it is in any way related to From, which is what the poster I was replying to suggested.
