Mike Ross wasn't even a good Vanilla Hulk. His Storm is decent, but that's about it. Even when GFAQs did its "Who is the best [character] player?" series, some random Japanese player won out over Mike Ross for best Hulk, and you know how much people love Mike Ross.

I enjoyed this event greatly, lots of tech, match ups and high level footage to enjoy.

Top 5 Moments of the Event:

1) Pixel Strider comeback. Vintage Clockwork.
2) Justin Wong PERFECT with Iron Fist on FChamp
3) Knives PERFECT with the Machine on Noel "this is not official" Brown
4) Noel Brown mouthing off after blowing up DiosX
5) Combofiend's play... the best there is

Not many WC players were at CC Open to make it really count. WC players have consistently bodied players like Yipes and Jago over the course of MVC3's history in pretty much every major leading up to NEC. Tournament statistics show that Justin Wong, Combofiend and Viscant are the top 3 most consistent players in the game with ChrisG and PRBalrog next in line. Top 8 at EVO was 6 WC players to 2 EC players. If you break down all majors in vanilla MVC3, WC player victories are ahead by a considerable margin.

It's only now that EC has gone up to WC's level. For the most of vanilla's career, WC was just way more consistent in results.

This. Mike Ross was really low in vanilla. Its not really any sort of "stay free" talent differential sort of debate. Only thing that happened was a really salty crowd tried to force the heel to lose before they went home and none of the players involved felt it was too fair to try to force this to happen.

I'm just hoping this makes Mike realize that you gotta train to get wins and not just rely on random huge damage punishes from hulk or sent to get by. If he trained those characters more he'd be pretty scary actually, but as peek a boo proved he didn't know anything about how to use them in this matchup and he had tried to prep for it. That shows some lab time lacking.

God I want to see Mike Ross get good...I like him.

And Flocker wasn't really a turn around. It was so late into MvC3, it amounts to almost nothing.

East Coast is hungry, East Coast never liked Phoenix, which was part of the reason why West Coast was so dominant. Now East Coast has Wesker, and they're pretty dominant if you compare the level of play you see on the West vs. the East.
