THREE SWORDS!!!!111OMGWTFPWNEDBBQ!!!11111

Capcom has already proved us that they continue being the masters of the beat em up genre. Add to this that they are very talented with samurai stuff and you will have an awesome game !

Guts, Willpower and Stamina !

Hey I tell you what... another good Dynasty Warriors style game is ALWAYS welcome.

im surprised more people arent interested in this game, especially considering the love fest that exists around kobayashi because of re4.

Would that guy be classed as a ninja? 'Cause I know there have been games with both ninjas and pirates in them before, even ninjas versus pirates, but has there been a ninja pirate/pirate ninja before?

And that character art made me think of a grown-up Dante from Viewtiful Joe. Maturetiful Joe Am Cry're winner.

They have?

Last decent Capcom beat'em up I can recall had Carlos the Ninja in it. :lol

I'm calling Capbomb on this one, and shenanigans if it has fixed camera angles.

Capcom is the new Sega.

That is silly. Both RE4 and DMC3 are doing well. The Clover games are going to be cool. I dont see how Capcom is going about a wholesale destruction of its franchises. On the contrary, they are launching original IPs with increasing frequency.

Much like Sega, Capcom is a company I previously would buy just about anything from without hesitation.

I'll be interested to see how DMC3 handles in sales. I'm hoping it tanks, just because I want to see an end to the 1996 era Resident Evil game engine.

Haven't played RE4 thanks to the shit legacy of RE 1 through rehash infinity. I may check it out if I happen to be someplace that has it running, but due to general disinterest in the franchise I'm not going out of my way to play it. I've got plenty on my plate.

Okami looks like it could be good, but like I said - Capcom is not the company it was ten years ago. I don't trust their asses.

So Capcom is the new Sega, but you havent played their recent, very very good triple A titles because 1) You want to see an end to a game engine despite the fact the game is pretty damn fantastic and 2) You are disinterested in a game because you hate the franchise despite the fact that re4 is a complete departure from this franchise.

Im not apologizing for some of the dumber things capcom has done. Nor am I saying they are the same company they were 10 years ago; however, your admitted lack of exposure to their current games basically invalidates your opinion and makes it nothing more than a simple troll.

Blah blah - nice try fella, but I'm currently slogging through DMC3, on Level 9, so my comments are qualified. It doesn't take an MIT graduate to see that Capcom's dated RE engine, the basis for the DMC series, is inappropriate for the sort of game Capcom is trying to make.

The RE engine is the worst thing to happen to Capcom in the past nine years.

You are disinterested in a game because you hate the franchise despite the fact that re4 is a complete departure from this franchise.

Can you fault me for just lumping Resident Evil with Resident Evil?

At what point is it beneficial for a company to ditch a franchise title and call it something else in order to attract players who aren't interested in said franchise?

Everything folks here have been telling me about RE4 makes me slightly interested, but seeing as how I had to sell my GC to pay some bills - I'm not going to lose any sleep over not playing it. At the very least, I'm interested in checking out RE4, because if it really is that good - then it's most definitely going to be the foundation for every 3D action game Capcom makes for the coming decade; see also the detrimental impact the RE engine had on Capcom's current game development.

I'm really looking forward to next generation in the hopes that aside from spiffy graphics, we'll see developers moving away from bad design staples like fixed camera angles and other Mikami inspired trappings. I hope developers find creative new ways to express and view game worlds as one of the biggest complaints I have about the current state of gaming is that camera placement in games is the biggest strike against any game out of the gate. Either it's rubbish, or it requires baby sitting.

For my tastes, stuff like Monster Hunter (Granted MH isn't great, but it's a passable PSO wann-be), Under the Skin, and Okami are a breath of fresh air.
