Other than the NES Batman, have any games based on this character not sucked?

Visuals look decent, in any case.

When I saw the topic title I was hoping you confused the two boards. :\ At least the screens give you an idea of how the suit is going to look in the movie. Looks better than what the actual photos would lead you to believe. :P

Batman Returns (a beat-em up for the SNES that was made by Konami) was pretty damn good as was The Adventures of Batman and Robin (the SNES version). Konami made that one too.

but this is still a warner bros. game, right? does that mean if it sucks, Jason Hall will go grudge fuck the developers or whatever it was they said they'd do?

Ok so did IESB steal these from Game Informer and stick their big ass logo on them or were these public released shots? Cause most of these are starring me in the face in the newest issue of Game Informer.

this game falls under the new warner bros licensing contract, so it'll be interesting to see what ultimately happens in regard to the quality...

Batman: The Movie on the Amiga rocked like Dokken. Recognize and pay homage!

I must say:

I was totally expecting a Spiderman/Kirsten Dunst rain kiss moment here. :lol

I'm actually pretty impressed... if the animation is good and the game does a good job of letting you feel like Batman, maybe it could be really cool?

Everything but Batman looks good...

I'm sure Joel Schumacher is crying because they took the nipples off the suit. His contribution to oversexing the franchise (for the men only, of course, Batgirl didn't get any suit nips) has come to naught...

...fortunately for the rest of the world.

Considering it's from the people who brought us Catwoman...

DFS.

The NES Batman sucked. In fact, all NES Batman games sucked.

Sunsoft's Genesis Batman was pretty good.

Konami's SNES Batman Returns Final Fight clone was good.

Adventures of Batman & Robin on the Genesis was good.

Batman Vengence on PS2/Xbox/GCN was pretty decent as well.

You're not talking about the developer, are you? Catwoman was done by Argonaut and Batman Begins is Eurocom.

Now that I look it up, actually, we're both wrong. Catwoman was an internal team at EA's Chertsey outfit in the UK.

I take back what I said, then. Since it's Eurocom, Batman will not be bad, it will just be bland, inoffensive, and dull.

DFS.

That's the impression I got reading the Game Informer preview, though to be honest it was a bit of an ass kissing piece (to be expected with an exclusive preview I guess). They plan to give you the ability to instill fear in the enemy to give yourself a momentary advantage, as well as increase your rep in the city as being the ultimate demon of vengence...or er, whatever. I'd recommend reading the preview before writing the game off. Personally I'm pretty excited about it.

Wow, that sounds pretty cool. I hope bad guys laugh at you and make jokes earlier in your career :lol

Good, make them pay for releasing another shitty game (if it turns out bad).

Yeah but doesn't that WB deal only offer a a penalty if the average scores are under 70%? Nowadays you gotta be a pretty shitty game to score under that.

Yes, but with the Batman license, there's only been like 4 versions out of about 40 versions that have scored over 70% in the past 14 years. The series needs whatever help it can get!

Are they trying to make this a stealth game too? ...

Yep...stealth looks to be the primary focus. I'm usually not one for stealth games, but it's obviously an essential part of Batman's makeup.

You sir, are stoned.

NES Batman was easily one of the best action games for it's time. Even now, it's pretty fun. The SNES one based on the cartoon was stylish and enjoyable. Every other Batman game has been medicore at best, though I can't comment on the Genesis one as it's the only one I never played.

Should've photoshopped Robin into the pic instead. :lol

A Batman game needs to be the city-roaming aspect of Spider-Man 2, expanded and taken to a whole new level. Throw in some car driving elements from GTA instead of webslinging as the primary source of long-distance transportation.

I liked The Adventures of Batman & Robin on Genesis, except for one problem...it was hard as hell. There is an easy level skip code so that helps out a bit (think of it as unlimited continues), but the first few stages really fail to prepare you for how insane the game gets.

One day, ONE DAY, someone will develop a good Batman game, but not in our lifetime. There were some good ones, but NO great ones. :(
They already have:
