Why would they port Battlefield 2 to Xenon when Battlefield Modern Combat has been confirmed for it?

I never had the chance to play any game like Battlefield... now I have my new pc I'll be buying Battlefield 2 on the launch.. new kind of experience for me ^^

I loved Battlefield 1942...Wake Island was comeplete ownage. I enjoyed Battlefield Vietnam, before that first patch...And I'm heavily looking forward to Battlefield 2.
