Have you played Battlefield 2?

They have been doing these expansions for a while now.
Are they eventually going to give away most of the expansions for BF3 for free? I somehow doubt that.

I am so glad that I only liked BC2 and BF3 instead of LOVING them like I did with 1942 and BF2. I can easily pass on this.
How much time would a small team (say 5 people) of programmers need to fix the M26 Dart glitch? It's more than a month already, and all they do is announce DLCs...
It's a lot more complicated than you think, in terms of the work involved. Console patches alone cost 30-50K to go through MS/Sony certification (testing) process as well.
Goddamn those fans who want more content. I mean, I get that perpetuating this model is a side effect of purchasing it, but do you really think those interested are going to ask themselves those kind of moral questions before reaching for their wallet?People who buy this - Part of the problem
2 years after the servers shut down?By eventually u mean 5 years later? Why not. Wouldn't shock me.
It would cost a lot of money if they wanted to patch it for the 360. They'll hopefully include it with the update for the Close Quarters stuff. I dont have nearly as many problems with it as others do, though. Even on Metro. How much time would a small team (say 5 people) of programmers need to fix the M26 Dart glitch?
PC has no certification costs.
This game is out on 3 platforms. Console plebs would bitch to high hell about not getting a patch if PC got one.

Not really. I'm a console pleb and don't mind PC gamers being test beds for patch fixes.
One of the what now? If you were going to say best, ArmA II is still a better FPS, and has a far better single player, co-op, and multiplayer mechanics.
That's a shitty excuse for them to use.
it's been steady at #4 on the XBL activity list until last week, when it dropped to #5 due to MineCraft. dunno about PS3, but i assume that's a similar story...I feel like EA/DICE's need to play catchup with Call of Duty ELITE is a little late, at this point.
They've done a great job to support the community with great patches, in my opinion. But, at this point, who's still even playing this and will buy this stuff? I'm guessing there's a healthy audience still playing on PC, but I'd imagine it's really started to calm down on consoles, in terms of peak active users.
If I knew all of this stuff was going to happen sooner, I wouldn't have gotten rid of my copy of the game. Even so, now I'm tempted to wait to buy a "Complete Edition" with all of the DLC bundled on the disc(s) with the main game, if it ever happens.
It just seems very ass-backwards to me. Where was the news of this at release? I know people would bitch and complain about them nickle and diming the consumer, but at least say you're planning ____ to come out __ months down the line and I would've been cool with that -- it'd give something to look forward to. It was just B2K (B2K was rad, however) and that was it. Now it seems like this was a reactionary move to the success of COD ELITE and their model.
I find it funny how many people complain about this. It's purely cosmetic stuff, not unlocks.
In BF2 it was much worse, but of course everyone has forgotten about that. If you didn't buy BF2 Special Forces you would be unable to use a ton of weapons that others could in the same match
For all the problems with this game it's still the best multiplayer shooter around. No other game has even tried to do what BF3 does and succeeded.

They get the DLC "early", which is to say, everyone else gets it at a later date. That's what everyone is complaining about.
It's probably a week early like PS3 users. I doubt it would be that much earlier since they actually have to have it finished first.
Dude you need to play with us more often.(/_\
I'm so sorry, but DICE got me by the balls, I have to fund them, too much fun I have with their games =/
Hopefully reasonably priced

No Whammy!... No Whammy!... No Whammy!... No Whammy!... No Whammy!... No Whammy!... No Whammy!... No Whammy!... No Whammy!... No Whammy!... (Means $50+)
They can definitely have my money for more content for the best FPS shooter of the last 5 years. More content pls.

Let them pay to be beta testers. CQC is gonna have a mess of balance problems at launch. They get the DLC "early", which is to say, everyone else gets it at a later date. That's what everyone is complaining about.
The idea of "premium" might be okay depending on the prize, gifts, etc. we will get. Only the early access doesn't interest me. Yes I like playing a game/DLC on PS3 before PC/360 users do (but it is not that I care much about it) but playing before the rest of my home console doesn't seem like valuable to me. I mean I prefer having full servers and more choice with whom I can play instead of playing early and alone.
Dude you need to play with us more often.
I'd rather pay $10 more and not support a premium service by EA.Buying content for one of my favorite games, is a problem? Lol.
So it's pay to delay it for those who don't pay, to get an advantage. You're making it sound scummier.Early access is very interesting to me. Being able to learn the maps before people who don't purchase the pack gives me a leg up on them, which will hopefully lead to more wins for me.

Well, I am mainly paying for it for the content. Getting access to the content early is icing on the scummy cake.I'd rather pay $10 more and not support a premium service by EA.
