Battlefield 6 Official Reveal Trailer

Leaked by who? The game isnt out yet, there is no public beta yet, where have they demonstrated how the game would look with full servers? All you saw was modern setting and fingers crossed, a good enough campaign. Unless you are judging the game by singleplayer only, BF lives and dies on multiplayer. They can not demonstrate anything until they open up the servers to the public. In house 10 on 10 is not representative. Again, look on YT the release before 2042 and everything they released, it looked solid, it looked good and than it flopped hard. Whoever says 2042 was doomed from the start is delusional, the hype was massive, going back to modern/future after 8 years of WW, everything was top notch until the public beta arrived. Curb your expectations, just because the game "looks" good, doesnt mean its polished.
Check this very thread. They've been running Battlefield labs (True Alpha/Beta's) for months. There's footage all over the Net.

Lots of posters have already played it and report positive things.

Edit: Here you go.

No. 2042 was confirmed dead once the public beta went online and people saw what state it really was in. BF6 still hasnt reached that stage so all you are seeing is marketing trailers. No one said anything bad about 2042 on reveal, how could they when all the saw was new graphics, new modes etc. Only after they realized half the modes wont make it on release, T poses of characters, clipping of vehicles and all this other mess. Tell me, where have you seen BF6 demonstrated? You saw snippets of guns shooting ad some destruction? Great, how do the servers look like when 100 people are onthe same map? Wait till the public beta before pre ordering blindly, you guys are so quick to forget its comical.
What do you mean no? This is what I said in the post you quoted.

The alpha footage looks promising, there is reason to be optimistic.

If they move away from the shitty specialist system back to class loadouts il give it a shot. I hear their still pushing to have unrestricted weapons therefore turning a "class" into a gadget (so the specalist system)

If that changes, cool.

This being the top user post on the BF6 YouTube video is glorious.

If it's 15-20 hours long then it's 5-10 hours too long. These types of game benefit from being much shorter in length. It's not an RPG.
They should do what COD tried for a couple of years. Release the campaign the week before. Generate a bit of hype then the main course to follow.

Its a meme post everywhere. Tired of looking at it. Crazy to me that some people still acting like the game is a big secret. There are tons of alpha videos out there, you can see the gunplay, you can see the movement, the destruction and the tone. Unless you live under a rock, you should know what to expect from the multiplayer by now. Playing it is another thing, it plays even better than it looks.

I never pre-order games but I'm probably just gonna say fuck it and actually pre-order this. I like what I see and will undoubtedly sink a lot of hours into MP. Worse case it's buggy near launch but the game looks solid enough otherwise that it will still be solid long term.

Unless its physical and in danger of not being available why pre order? The money is better off in your bank account.

Make a more informed decision nearer launch, at least try the beta imo.

The technical state of 2042 wasn't the core issue at the end of the day. The maps in particular were just not fun to play on. Way to wide open which doesn't lead to interesting and fun battles. Combine that with the sterile futuristic theme and weaponry and it was not great.

This on the other hand looks like BF3/4 with updated graphics. Maps and combat just from the leaked clips already look way better than BF 2042. This will be solid even if it required polishing imo.

ikr. I always "preorder" games when its available to predownload, mostly 1 day before launch just to get the preorder shit if im buying the game anyway

No point of preordering, especially if you're on pc. Guarantee there will be a good deal on a cd key website at launch.

You know exactly what I mean :) The building is destroyed from a completely different side than where the RPG hits it. I just thought that destruction in Battlefield in 2025 would be more like in Teardown.

It's the same as battlefield 3 or 4 destruction, just the front of the building and that's it.

Still just clever scripts nothing more than that... 10 years ago i thought by now we would have some proper destruction physics in BF.
This isn't a Gaza simulator.

Spicy joke aside, it would be impractical to have full destruction on urban maps for gameplay reasons. Wouldn't be much fun for infantry if the map was reduced to rubble like that scene at the end of The Pianist.

I would expect rural or desert maps to have fully collapsable buildings.

Alpha footage looks good.
Weighty tank gameplay seems to be back after the 'sliding on ice tanks' of BF4.
Tap fire seems to be rewarded. Compression is still in there.
The classes look like a return to form.

I only wish there was a stamina gauge to limit all the sprinting nonsense.
Stamina gauge management would fix this on a dime. BF2 had this and I wish it returned.

Now add in semi-realistic graphics, a bunch of land/sea/air vehicles, 64 player multiplayer, and large wide open maps. You would need a supercomputer that 99% of people don't have to be able to handle that kind of destruction, lets not even consider what that would mean for the console versions.

For the purposes of this series the destruction is good enough. The only thing on my wish list right now is large levolution type moments (like large buildings collapsing or map altering events) which I haven't seen in any of the footage yet.

What are you talking about? I have never played a game in this genre (that's not a scripted single player moment) where the tank head flies in the air and crushes a car while also taking out the side of a building in a multiplayer match. This new destruction is incredible.

Big maps?

Not super familiar with Battlefield franchise, I played 4 quite a bit and Bad Company on and off. How did the other entries deal with it? I don't remember.

I know there are other solutions, troop transports, vehicles, insertion flares, whatever but if you are stuck in the middle of nowhere then sprint seems kinda essential?

Movement in BC2 was abysmal. You ran like a fat kid in a vat of butter and you couldn't go prone either. I'm not expecting tactical sprint or anything like that but you need decent mobility in games where you're constantly moving from one objective to the next.
